iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

Older smartphones had more scratch resistant, but more brittle glass.

Since people don't like paying $300 to replace their glass when dropping their phone a foot, cell phone makers overall (not just Apple) moved to formulas that are more shatter-resistant but are slightly more scratch prone.

This issue is solved with a $20 screen protector; you can't apply something for $20 that will stop your screen from shattering in a fall.

Suggesting (or trying to "scientifically" prove) that we are making this up / it's our own fault / we should accept this is mockful as it is.

Would you tell someone whose relative just died by getting hit by a car while crossing a green light, any of the following?

1) "Oh well, people die all the time, deal with it"

2) "Well, they did smoke a lot, didn't they? I'm not surprised"

3) "Actually, surely, the light must have been red, otherwise the car would've stopped"

4) "Well, I've crossed green lights before and I never died"

5) "Why are you telling me this? Go tell the authorities" (even though you already have)

That's how some people posting here come across.

Imagine a screen like that for the iPad Pro with stylus.!!! It would be ruined in 2 days .

BTW : I saw many many many replies to this post and I think it would be nice if the trolling people could troll another conversation. Thanks

I'am a Apple user ( Mac, Watch, AirPods, Apple TV, iPhones, iPad) I know a bit the products. I know what to expect from them as I'm prepared to pay the price for them.

If I break my phone by accident on the floor ..I'm not gonna complain on a Forum. But I do when the Phone's screen looks 2 years old in just 2 weeks because gets scratches so easily by any kind of frictions next to any kind fabrics.

I agree with someone who said it could be a "bad batch" I hope that's what it's all about.

@Apple Feel free to join the discussion to help

Thx

The exact same has happened to me! I’ve never once bought an iPhone, so I’m new to the family... but two days in to having the phone I’ve a deep scratch mark in my screen from placing it in my coat pocket that had a five pence piece in it? For a phone that is advertised to be scratch resistant and drop proof I am so let down? I’ve never ever had this with any Google phone.. is this a normal issue? How can we do anything about this? Could someone please enlighten me? :)

Don't expect any sources for that, they are just trolling at this point - but I will say: good luck returning scratched phone in 90% in the world.

Also they answer really picky, for example, they will tell you in over 60 posts how apple implied shatter resistance with "toughest glass", but will not answer of posts showing AD of apple throwing the phone naked in a woman's bag with all kinds of objects ahahahah + will tell you how in the other AD with objects thrown with high velocity towards the phone's back and those objects got sharp and metal parts - it's on the back so it does not count. Ignoring the FACT that apple state they use THE SAME glass on front and back roflmao - if the back won't scratch the front should not too and the coating is super tiny layer, scratches there are barely visible even when you search for them in ideal conditions for that - those posted here are clearly not + catch fingernails and so on.

You don’t need to advice we should complain to Apple directly - for sure we have done that after noticing this extremely annoying material defect.

I used the product feedback page - didn’t get any comment back. Naturally I also went back to the store where I got this 11 Pro Max - they had no answers. Here in Thailand where I live part of the year you are NOT able to return a product within 14 days and get refunded. Perhaps only in the Apple Store and there is only one in Bangkok, not where I live.

We also know very well that Apple is not commenting here, needless to repeat that either. But we can still share our frustration for this very real problem that is loudly calling product recall. Maybe one day someone who matters will hear us.

Nope. Apple isn't here as we've explained. And to be honest, except for this thread, this subject is barely making any notice outside of here.

Either do something to help yourself, or keep complaining, but when you wake up tomorrow morning, the scratches will still be there and this forum isn't going to help you at all in this regard.
