iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

Have been through some more online reviews (by people who have credibility) and the consensus is that these iPhone 11's are more susceptible to screen scratches (without contact with hard surfaces) than any other phones people have used. Will just be patient and wait until probably the winter (new virus timeline) to see what is on the market. And I do understand the concept that the more shatter proof the screen, the greater the likelihood of screen scratches.

Wow, very same issue here. I had an iPhone 7 for 3 years and no scratches. I’ve had my iPhone 11pro for one week and have several scratches. I am so bummed. I have a screen protector now, but it’s too late. These phones are so expensive and now I have to live with the scratches as I’m not going to pay $300 for a new screen. I tried toothpaste to buff it out, but that doesn’t work. Does anyone have anything that works to get small scratches out of the screen??

I wish I had read this forum post before buying the iPhone 11 pro max. I have exactly the same problem, I have had numerous previous iPhone models and never had a screen scratch from just putting it in my pocket. I returned the phone and will be holding off on doing any more Apple purchases until I see a reasonable response and action from Apple on this issue. At a minimum they should be including a glass screen protector as part of a bundle when you guy this phone if the screen is going to scratch this easily.

I for one, and it sounds like most of the posters here agree, would prefer better scratch over shatter resistance.

Go back into older threads a bit and look at how many owners of iPhone 8 and before complained that they dropped their phone from "just a few inches" onto "a carpeted floor" and the front of the phone shattered.

Compare to the iPhone 11 series where similar complaints are quite rare.

you can help not dropping your phone...I have personally never dropped one to the point of a shattered screen since Gen 1. hardly anything one can do about putting in a purse and it getting scratched from simple day-to-day usage and activity.

You spend $20 for a screen protector and never worry about it again.

That seems pretty simple, where a screen protector is of little efficacy in preventing screen damage if your phone is dropped.

Not to bash or turn anyone away from screen protectors, but bare in mind they do not seal flush even it put on by a pro. Sand and dust will still get under them and will still cause micro scratches. I have spent tons on them over the years ranging from cheapies to temper glass ones and still end up with micro scratches underneath them. Same goes for cases whether a life proof otter box it’s still the same story. I have cases and screen protectors on all my phones from my 6 plus all the way up to my 11 and none of them saved my phone from cosmetic damage. For those of us that are very careful with our phones and have never dropped them would much rather have scratch resistance vs crack resistance.

That's ridiculous. Screen protector installed on my phone before it was turned on. Not a speck of dust under the protector in almost 9 months now and that's viewed under a magnifying glass.

If that's your justification for not protecting your screen, that's fine. But for other's reading this thread a good qualify screen protector, will completely protect the screen, period.
