iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

All it takes is a grain of sand, something smaller than your eye may be able to see, to scratch ANY phone screen.

See this article in particular about the new glass on the iPhone 11 series --> https://www.idownloadblog.com/2019/11/04/iphone-11-scratches/

Bottom line. Put a decent screen protector on your phone to stop further scratches and to most likely hide any you already have.

It's not "denial," it's grit, small bits of sand or something else scratching the phone.

Tests show the screen has a Mohs hardness of a bit over 6, fingernails are about 2.5, so fingernails aren't scratching the screen.

Simply put, something hard is scratching the screen.

To avoid it install a screen protector immediately after purchase.

If you don't like screen protectors, odds are your phone will end up scratched.

Once again, here's why; the newer screens are slightly more scratch prone as a cost of being much less likely to shatter in a drop:

Okay, done listening to this. I've seen hundreds of posts from people claiming their 11 phones are getting small scratches (when they never have before with most of their various cell phones) from just putting them in their pocket for a while with NOTHING in there, including sand or grit. And then Mr. Kucharski continues to insist that they are all wrong. You decide. Bye.

Have you read that there were no such problems with previous models? And if someone else has bad glass, this doesn't mean that you need to be indulgent in this.

Of course, this is physics, but this glass that not suitable for everyday use. If Apple down to this, then this is sad, and this is what we r talking about.

You say the right things that only confirm that the glass is terrible.

Same thing happened to me after only having the phone ONE DAY!! I had an iPhone 8 for three years and never got a single scratch on it. I have no idea how or what caused 2 scratches. I am super bummed out!

I haven't broken a dish in years. I bought a new set of dishes and dropped and broke one while I was unpacking them. Does that mean the new dishes were weaker than the ones I had before? Or was it just a chance occurrence.

You may also want to inform them that normal dust particles can scratch the screen as well. I have never put my phone in my pocket or in anything for that matter. If I am at work or at home my phone is on it’s charging pad. If I am out and about my phone is in my hand. I have only ever used an Apple approved microfiber towel. Yet to my surprise my screen is still scratched. As for those that recommend screen protectors I have had them on previous iPhones and treated the phones the exact same way as my 11 to no avail they scratched just as bad under the screen protectors. If I wasn’t an IOS developer I would certainly ditch the iPhone line.

They scratched your iPhone glass from under the screen protector ?

Evidently being an iOS developer permits defying the laws of physics.

My iPhone 11 Pro Max has had the Apple sold and installed Belkin screen protector since it was out of the box and dust is simply incapable of getting underneath it, so there are no scratches underneath the protector and NONE on the screen protector itself.
