iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

Older smartphones had more scratch resistant, but more brittle glass.

Since people don't like paying $300 to replace their glass when dropping their phone a foot, cell phone makers overall (not just Apple) moved to formulas that are more shatter-resistant but are slightly more scratch prone.

This issue is solved with a $20 screen protector; you can't apply something for $20 that will stop your screen from shattering in a fall.

So what you are saying is that we should wait for such incidents to be over before purchasing a new device. Or should Apple replace these few faulty screens? Also not sure why compare Apple with Samsung or a PC with MacBook. Different products, different clientele, different expectations. Finally, I have yet to meet someone who loves to spend time complaining on a forum when no problem exists. Like most people on this forum, we have owned iPhone 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, X, 11. This is our first time complaining … did not experience this problem before.

Dear kpfoley and others,

I‘m wondering what qualifies you to presume that our complaints would be fake. „Bad english grammar“ can‘t be an indication as many of the people complaining here are not from the USA, just like me.

I‘m very happy for you if your phones don‘t show the issue we complain about - but that doesn‘t mean that there is not an issue.

It doesn‘t help us if you again and again tell us that we could return it or install a screen protector. Installing a screen protector won‘t remove the already existing scratches, you understand?

I really wonder what your mission is.

Are you working for Apple or are you such a great Apple fan that you must defend it compulsively? I like Apple too and I was happy with lots of devices before - but now I have an issue with a phone I bought for 1250€ and I want Apple at least to give a statement about that.

Sorry, but some of you simply behave in a very very arrogant way. Think about it.

I am sorry and I hope people are not taking any of my posts the wrong way.

I read a lot of these posts before purchasing my phone, and when they told me at the xfinity store that I could return it within 14 days if it started having this issue, I thought it would be a good opportunity to put it through normal use testing and maybe be helpful to this thread in posting my experience.

Although I did mention that some people may not be being truthful about there scratches, I don't think I accused any individual about anything. I was just making a point that there may be some people that are not being truthful.

I am extremely puzzled by this and am just trying to be helpful.

Don’t worry, I didn’t mean you. :)

It‘s interesting to know that not every phone has that issue. Of course everyone can share his/her experiences with the phone.

The people I addressed with my post are those who repetitively give the same statements and act like they were the only ones knowing the truth, subliminal saying that everyone else is wrong or talking trash.

I'd like to mention that some people posting here claiming to be regular users and scientists may be working for Apple, and they may not be scientists, some even may be aliens from outer space (or at the very least they may be Scandinavian mythological creatures living under a bridge)!

Not that I'm accusing anyone of anything.

We've already answered that question several times. You should really read what we posted.

And I don't care if anyone's grammar is correct or not. But commonalities in grammar and word usage between different "users" makes it obvious some of them are fake. Fortunately, most trolls only think they are clever.

But that is besides the point. The evidence that there is NOT a scratching problem with the new iPhones is so overwhelming, you have to be completely blind not to see it. Especially when the evidence is pointed out to you over and over and over.

Have a nice day.
