iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

My I phone 11 is not even two weeks old. There is a scratch that is about two inches on my screen and it hasn’t been dropped. I upgraded from an X. I never had protection on my X and never had a scratch. I have had a case on since day one with this phone and now have a big scratch. I am very unhappy and will be calling to see if there are any options. I was told the screen is way better than the X from the staff at AT&T. Not happy. At all.

Shatter resistance isn’t as important, its covered by applecare+, while scratches are not covered so in spite of paying hundreds for applecare you still have to pay full pop for a new screen. The screen is much more susceptible to scratches not just a little. I have decades old glass tabletops used daily that have much less severe scratches than my iPhone 11 did after a day, and that was using the box to transport it rather than throwing it in with my keys and other phone like I normally would.

can you provide a link or cite this info?

this would mean that they knowingly Falsely advertised the phone as one of the strongest phones.

It is a marketing contradiction. Especially because my phone fell 3 inches on the 3rd day. Cracked and shattered the back. Then They are the only ones that can change the glass on it? That if you use a non-Apple branded replacement the device just doesn’t work.

They should not be allowed to do that.

1000 bucks for a phone and they treat you like a second class citizen. I just want my phone fixed free. Ridiculous. So much for loyalty.

Yes! Since I had no problem for years with my iPhone 6, I wasn't trying to avoid the minor cost of the protector. I truly did not think I needed it - e.g., belt and suspenders. So I installed my new protector today over the scratch. I've been carrying my phone in a baggie since the scratch. I still have my iPhone 6 sitting here with zero scratches (not kidding!) Apple should include the protector in the iPhone box!

But using these iPhones exactly the same way as other previous iPhones results these new iPhones getting scratches in just days. That impacts the pleasure and value of these phones, whereas previous models survived years without scratches with the same use.

So, a screen protector is practically a must, while it was not needed before. Apple got the formula for the "toughest glass" only half right this year. Hopefully the next iPhone will have improved scratch resistance – or comes with a screen protector in the box.

I had a few very customer unfriendly experiences with Apple a few years ago that, along with some very user unfriendly parts of their software "ecosystem" on their devices, caused me to move off of their laptops and back to the PC environment. As of now, when it dies, my MacAir will be replaced with a PC too.

They take a very rigid and hardline posture with their "rules", even if you have what seems to be a valid grievance. Not unusual for a huge company but still .....

So if Apple raised the price of the next phone by $20 and includes the same screen protector you could buy yourself in the box, you'd be happy?

Why is that better than deciding upon which protector you want and applying it at the time of purchase?
