iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

Older smartphones had more scratch resistant, but more brittle glass.

Since people don't like paying $300 to replace their glass when dropping their phone a foot, cell phone makers overall (not just Apple) moved to formulas that are more shatter-resistant but are slightly more scratch prone.

This issue is solved with a $20 screen protector; you can't apply something for $20 that will stop your screen from shattering in a fall.

Sorry that discussion goes into hot. Unlike bots like kpfoley you are real person who take more protection for your devices. You advise also smart enough. But problem is misleading advertisement from Apple and also experience with previous iPhones. I didn’t expect that screen of new iPhone is more scratch-prone.

But also I wouldn’t install screen protector - most likely I won’t buy 11 pro and stay with X while issue won’t be solved. Pretty sure it will be solved in next generation - current screen as bad as iPhone 6

I didn't accuse anyone directly. Merely suggested it's possible, which of course it is. Please don't put words in my mouth.

And with that, I will take your advice and ignore you.

Have a nice day though.

My "mistake" - you were not disparaging them individually, you were doing so collectively.

I should've followed my own advice because there's no point reasoning with someone with blind loyalty, regardless of the evidence presented against his/her claim. Believe what you want but don't bully or undermine others for their experiences.

OMG! I have the same thing. This morning I woke up and saw it and I freaked out! I don't know how this could have happened because I always watch where i put my phone in order to avoid this and now bam. I'm mortified! It's only 2 months old and my previous one that I had for ages doesn't have a scratch on it! I pride myself in that. This is a real problem guys. What to do?

I don't hate you, I just feel like you may not be entirely truthful here. You claim to have examined your screen with an electron microscope and found no scratches even with that, which is virtually impossible even if your screen is completely scratch free to the naked eye. Once again, seeing is believing, share this allegedly perfect screen and pictures taken with the electron microscope and I might just believe you.

(By the way, my _new_ screen installed free of charge by Apple is also scratch free. That is, using a screen protector which you claim not to use.)

If you can't recognize humor (after someone was repeatedly posting about needing a special LED light to see any scratches), I'm not surprised you don't recognize how irrational this thread's "scratchgate" is in the light of the rest of the world being completely ignorant of any problems despite 10s of millions of iPhone 11s having been sold.
