iPhone 11 screen scratches

A cheap neoprene pouch can be purchased on Ebay from numerous suppliers. These are great if you plan to place a phone in any pocket or bag. If your phone is in a case already, buy a larger size pouch. Any grit whatsoever may very well include particles which are as hard or harder than the glass in your phone (e.g. quartz sand particles). Grind this these against a surface in a tight pocket and even the best glass will be scratched. Inspect and clean (or replace) the pouch regularly. A folio style case is another option, as the lid always protects the screen when closed, although you could still get particles trapped between the lid and screen in a dirty enough environment. Bottom line - grit rather than metal keys or other objects are the bane of any glass cellphone's existence.

I’m having the same issue, Never dropped or rubbed anything on the screen and somehow still got a pretty deep scratch that I can feel with my finger nail. Ive never used a screen protector before and have never gotten a mysterious scratch like this before either.

I also have the same issue after a week of being very careful with the phone and pulled it out of my pocket one day after it was in there with nothing else and found a deep scratch and scuff mark as follows. Very concerning after 1 week of use and being very careful with the phone. Also been in a case since the minute it was unwrapped. Very disappointed.

I am facing the same issues. The screen got scratches even just putting in the jeans pockets. Not sure if this is covered under the warranty or Apple has any plan to remedy this as it really looks bad and I don’t even feel like watching my screen because of the scratches.

I've had my phone one day! ONE DAY, and I have scratches along the side from where it comes in and

out of my pocket I still own my IPhone X and after owning it for 2 years without

any sort of screen protector it looks better than the IPhone 11 Pro max. I always

stick with Apple because of the quality in their products, but this is TRASH. I’m

paying how much for this? Unacceptable! The fact that the company will most

likely do nothing about it is really disappointing. I’m a loyal Apple costumer,

but if this is an example of where the company is headed, I’M OUT.

I've contacted AT&T since I purchased my phone through them, and they have a 30day refund policy. I really do belive I'm returning my phone today because of this issue. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I just can't belive my phone looks this bad after a day. I'm in shock of Apple.

Went to the Apple Store yesterday. I had them look at my screen and they thought it was weird. They checked their system to see if there were any recalls on iphone screens. They found nothing. But the Apple Rep did believe that there these screens are made differently this year. He took it to the back and had it inspected, and told me this is normal by having it in your pockets and that by "pressure" of your jeans, the screen scratches. All I can do is use my Apple Care to replace it because there was nothing Apple could do. I opted out and just left the store.

I have never put in on my pocket. I have a microfiber sleeve that it stays in and clear case around the phone. My phone has two scratches within 24 hours on the glass. I have 35 days to return it as an Elite + Member at Best Buy so getting a used one from apple isn't an option.

so Apple explained to you that the "pressure" inside your jeans pocket is to strong for their display. Pfffttt... So according to Apple you have to carry the iPhone in your hands all the time (and better holding it on it’s sides, not front or back). to avoid scratches.

The safest way to avoid scratches is NOT to touch the phone or put it in any cloth pocket. Just think of it as a museum piece!

This is typical Apple and I hope that they get their #scratchgate

I have this same issue. I've had the phone for a little over a week and already have 2 long, fine scratches on my phone. My previous phone was a 6s that I had for over 2 years with no screen protector. That phone still doesn't have a single scratch on it. This new 11 Pro has only gone in my pocket without any keys etc. in it. I am extremely careful with my phones and have never scratched or cracked the glass on a phone. I'd prefer a phone with weaker glass, but better scratch resistance (like the older models). This glass is no good.

Yours is warranty case. If there is no splintering, no damage to the frame then it's glass pressure break. Had the same thing on an iPhone 8, it appears. Apple replaced the screen. No questions asked. A single hairline crack to the front glass without a point of impact and other visible damages means the Apple warranty should apply.

Had the same issue. Looked exactly the same, 100%. Was not a scratch but a hairline crack. These are covered by your standard warranty (i.e. screen replacement at no extra cost) if there is no visible damage to the frame and no further splintering. In general, for those here who can feel the scratch with their fingernails and it connects to or is close to the frame, consider it may very well be a hairline crack: Warranty applies.

I have a very unique issue.

I noticed some smudges and a line at the top right hand corner and thought it'd been scratched (I take good care of my phones and never had the problem before, always in cases etc)

Anyway I then take a cloth and clean it and the marks disappear completely.

There's no scratches or anything.

But then I run my fingers over it again or breathe on it and they come back!

It's so weird.. it's almost like an issue under the glass.

I'm taking it to see the apple genius on Monday, but as it's an issue like this do you think they will replace it?

I refuse to pay over £1k for a supposedly incredible OLED screen if it's not 100% perfect.

If they try and say it's user caused I might lose my sh**

My wife and I are having the same issue. We're using our phones in the same manner as we did the 6S that we had for years, now our new iphone 11s are scratched within weeks of purchase. Very disappointed.

I contacted Apple Support online about the scratches and they shipped me a new iPhone 11 Pro Max. I'm not sure how this resolves the scratch situation but I am satisfied with how promptly they addressed my complaint.
