iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

The important thing to note here is that Apple made a claim that it is the toughest screen ever. That clearly means they should not scratch or even break under normal use. They have not made a single comment. We have some fanboys who here who want to fend everyone as if they have no other work in this world than to complain ! The complain is so Apple will hear us. it is important that we are heard. I have never had issues with Apple before for which I have lodged a complain. This to me is a big issue. Maybe to some they don't think it is important and then keep fending everyone about their stupidity and not using a screen protector and so on. People made a choice and spent a lot of money on this phone. This is simply not acceptable !

You're right. I'm going to un-follow this thread now. I'm telling people if they don't want anymore scratches to put a screen protector on. I'm saying Apple and Samsung are using a new glass this year, which is stronger AGAINST cracking the screen, but is clearly not more scratch proof, which many of you were expecting.

You are all now free to moan and complain without me interrupting your whine session.

I noticed a tiny blotch, and it won’t come off my screen, I use an IPhone XS Max, I’ve had it for 6 months through Verizon. I was very irritated by the blemish I noticed, especially because I clean and take care of my iPhone. I have learned to be careful, I have owned an iPhone since 2010, it’s the only phone I like and value . I know my history with scratches, dents, cracks, and abrasions. This blemish on the screen is unusual and I can’t explain it to myself.

I am experiencing the same issue. The one sided full edge has been scratched and other than that there are some scratches on the screen without being touch with the sharp or any object. The normal daily day of use made it scratched. I think they are considering this as cosmetic damage, I have apple care plus plan but I don't want to replace it in 34$.

I did post one of the original complaints on the Screen Scuff marks and my disappointment.

Just want to clarify. The back of the phone is solid and rugged. Its only the screen where this type of wear is not acceptable and very shocking.

Also please remember the Camera lens is sapphire crystal so those are going to be very good under normal use. I have a sapphire crystal watch that is 12 years old but ) scratches. Great that Apple used this material. Sapphire Crystal is very expensive to culture and probably cannot be done for the screen cost effectively. having said that. This screen is terrible ! are you kidding me ? Tougher Glass ! really.

Blown away by just over the course of a few days how many micro scratches were developing on the phone. Always use care when putting in pockets as I did with my prior iPhone 6s which to this day has little to no micro scratches. Shocked and annoyed when Apple says "strongest glass ever" on an iPhone. With the amount of micro scratches after one week, I'm like what's the phone gonna look like after a few months to a year? especially when I plan on keeping the phone for 2+ years. If this is the standard then every employee should just auto encourage a screen protector (annoying though) because it shouldn't need it, some will disagree but if that's the case then auto include the screen protector with purchase. Some forums say due to tougher glass has made the glass softer and more susceptible to scratches.

Having the same issue. Phone has been in a sturdy case for the two weeks that I have had it and noticed a surface scratch last night. The phone has not been dropped or around anything that would touch the screen. It's not noticeable by the naked eye but I can see it on everyday function. I'm so frustrated by this! I have been an apple user since the 4 and have never had this issue. Now that I see it is common issue I'm questioning my loyalty. Of course now I'm just STUCK! Ugh!

I’ve kept mine away from anything that would scratch. 1st iPhone in a few years. I’ve never had this problem w Samsung! I never needed a screen protector for scratches!! I’m only using an iPhone again because I loved my Apple Watch and love my iPad. Thought I’d go back to iPhone. Everything I read said the screen is super tough...no problems. Well the only place I keep this phone is pocket of my scrubs and on my bed at night. How in the **** do you get screen scratches from scrubs and sheets?

we need compensation! We need new screens!

I also had the same problem with 2 11 Pros and only after some minutes of use!

The first one: Showed up a very light (but long) scratch (couldn't feel it with my nail) after a couple of hours of use (only in hand and in (clean of everything) pocket).

I thought that that the scratch was there from the start and just didn't noticed it.

The store exchanged the phone the same day.

I got a second one which I examined and was OK.

I didn't used it more than 2 mins and then wiped it with the soft cloth (obviously totally new and clean) which came with the Spigen screen protector I bought in order to apply the screen protector.

Then 2 scratches (a light one like in the first iPhone) and a deeper one appeared!

I got the second iPhone back also.

Never had this kind of issue with any iPhone I had the last 9 years.

It is obvious to me that we are dealing with a screen coating failure which Apple has to acknowledge ASAP!
