iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

In short I have not had this problem.

I carried my iPhone 11 Pro around in my pocket for 2.5 weeks before I put a screen protector on. My phone was in and out of my pocket numerous times with wallet, airpods, maybe one or two times with key chain and have experienced NO SCRATCHES. I didn't want to risk scratches as my old iphone 6S went 4 years without any major scratches due to use of a glass screen protector. I go through two or three tempered glass screen protectors a year to get a fresh look on the phone once in awhile. So all good with my phone.

That's not true. I know and read enough about to know. I went to the apple store today. Returned my phone like a purchase return. bought a new phone and put a screen protector. You wait and watch the next Iphone will have better glass that is scratch resistant and also tough. By the way Iphone 11 Pro max in drop tests have been proven to break much more easily. In one drop. All the same I am not bashing Apple. They just got a rotten supplier. The apple store gave me an option and made it right for me.

You're singing to the wrong choir here. These people just want to "me too" and refuse to accept that the Gorilla Glass 6 is tougher, but can scratch more easily. They just don't get it and instead want to commiserate with each other. Even though it's not helping them in any way. I've tried over and over and over to explain this as simply as I could and instead got attacked for being here. I'm only responding to you as we're of the same understanding. But you're not going to change anyone's mind and they're still going to come here and add their pointless me too.

This is EXACTLY what happened to my iPhone 11 Pro! Happened within the first hour of opening it, setting it up, putting it in my pocket. I've had new iPhones for the last decade and am very OCD with my belongings. Take great care of everything. Never used screen protectors, never had any issues, except for normal wear and tear after a year or two of use.

I literally spent an entire day with AT&T and Apple trying to get this fixed, both basically said it was my fault and not covered. Even though I have no idea how it can go from brand new box, to table top, to my pocket, within an hour, and get a deep smudge/scratch randomly.

Ended up paying $150 for my insurance plan to get a replacement, but feel like it is the phone and not me. Perhaps a bad batch of screens?? Either way, I hope Apple acknowledges it and makes it right for all those affected.

Glad I'm not the only one. Got my iPhone and within the first weekend had many scratches on the screen. One even looked like a crack. Took the phone to an Apple Store and they said it was just scratched. They said they could replace under an "incident" on my Apple Care but said they didn't have any screens in yet.

I've had many generations of iPhone and have never had a screen protector or cracked/scratched a screen. The 11 Pro Max screen is a joke and Apple needs to make this right for customers.

It happened to me too. Just few days after I started using my iPhone 11 (Red Product) the screen got a light scratch, like a dactilar print. What a disappointment! I have had 3 I-phones (4, 5c, 6Plus S) without screens scratches (These iPhones never had screen protectors)

I just left a AT&T store, which I visited to let them know this issue. The store manager acknowledge that all the iPhones 11 on displays got scratches very easily.

What can we do?

Has Apple recognized that this is global issue?

The same thing happen on my iPhone 11 Pro Max and I never use screen protectors.

I usually have my phone and keys in separate pockets, the first time I put them in the same pocket I get scratches all over the screen that don't come out.

I had the iPhone 8 Plus for 3 years, prior to getting the 11 and never had this issue. I have no clue what changed.

this what did. I had I care plus but did not use it. My 11 pro max was less than a week old and I could not stand the marks. So returned t in the store per return policy. Store manager and apple store was nice to help with that. The did not have a space grey so I bought a green 11 max with icare plan with the refund and restored from backup and put a full coverage screen protector even though I hate them. I will know it won’t get scratches next time.

I faced the same issue. I swear I handled it like a baby, never even put it down on a rough surface. But the scratches appeared out of nowhere on the screen. I felt guilty for getting scratches on my brand new phone phone just 3-4 days after it was purchased. Went online and came to know this is a common issue with everyone. I have used older models without any screenguards and there has never been any problems.

Does anyone know if apple is planning to do something about this? This is really unacceptable.

Just stop. What’s your point here ? If don’t have a problem stop trying to throw a wrench into things. I don’t Care if it’s Corning or anyone else. This screen is not acceptable. Are you kidding me ? There are numerous glass surfaces I use. Just don’t be argumentative. Yeah use your phone and be sympathetic to Corning. Obviously you are fine with the marks and scratches ! So them what’s your point or business ! Everyone can read white papers and details on screens and glass surfaces. I have dropped my iPad and it has not cracked and it has no deep scratches I have numerous surfaces. Samsung galaxy active are super tough. Apple acknowledged the issue and said engineering is looking into it. To many they don’t care about scratches and swirl marks and some do. Gave me a new phone and I put a screen protector and a cover and it’s too thick to my liking but I have to live with it. . I am good with Apples response.
