iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

I have the same issue. on 3rd day of the usage I ended up with the scratches, I did not drop or scratch it against anything. I originally thought they might be shallow lines removing the top coating and would go away after few days of swiping the touch screen, but simply moving in and out of the pant pockets are keep adding more scratches. I have been a loyal apple phone user for over 8 years and never had used a screen guard and never saw the scratches, I proudly advertised this feature to all my friends and family that insisted to use a screen guard which diminishes the touch usability. Now I feel sad for the fact that I will have to see these scratches for several years unless if I want to pay for replacing the screen. Very disappointed with the quality

A scratch just appeared on my 11 Pro Max front screen out of nowhere similar to others in this forum. It is very annoying as it hasn't been mishandled. Have not had a screen protector since I had the 7 (I've had every model since the 4) and never experienced this until yesterday. Rather unimpressed as I expected this to be tougher (or at least as tough) than the XS Max. Not a happy-chappie.

It has been just 20 days since I bought my iPhone 11 and I found a deep scratch develop on the screen. It is about half an inch long. I take care of my phone extremely well. I can be 100 % sure that no hard material has touched my screen. This scratch is straight and looks like it developed spontaneously. I'm a materials scientist and can be very sure when I say that this is not something I did while usage. I'm sure this screen has an inherent problem. Or maybe it was engineered for faster degradation. To sell new phones sooner.

It is super frustrating. I talked to people at the Apple store and no one is willing to help. I'm supposed to pay $200 to get it fixed. 20 days after buying a new phone!

I have been recommending iPhone 11 to all my friends but now I have stopped and will in fact discourage anyone I meet from buying it unless Apple is more receptive of this problem.

Just went to an Apple genius in a store in Sydney and got told that it’s cosmetic and this won’t be covered by AppleCare+. Less than one month of normal use (no mishandling) and it’s gets a frackin scratch. Dunno how it even happened as it’s been pretty much routine just like for the past number of years with previous models. Never happened until now.

I’m very upset and agree with the comments about scratches on my screen! I just paid $900 for the iPhone 11 on October 18th; it’s the 22nd and I now have a scratch across my screen from it being in my pocket. I pulled it out and noticed it right away.

I called Apple Care (I did not purchase it when I bought the phone), but my technician stated that Apple has received complaints and are looking into it. I need to take my phone in to a store today for a diagnostic- my tech made the appointment so we’ll see. He also instructed me to go to the Apple site and leave feedback. Apple ID talking to manufacturer and engineers.

Bottom line, if you have screen scratches: Call Apple care to report the screen issues, make appt, and leave feedback on the website. Report it so Apple knows the screens are defective and we don’t get ignored.

I have precisely the same issue. I got mine 11 Pro Max on September 20th and today the screen has a large number of scratches on it. Out of a hundred there are 3 really deep scratches! 2 of which clearly seen with a screen on!

I use it quite carefully. Never dropped. Never put screen down. I never have something else in the pocket with my phone.

I had 7 Plus for 2.5 years. I did have scratches of course. But it never had that many and so deep.

TLDR: I went to Apple Genius Bar today in Amsterdam and a guy registered my complaint. I think as more will be registered as much chance we will have to get our new screens.

I hope Apple will acknowledge the issue and run a program to replace the once affected.

This is really an issue right now. A lot of people complaints about scratches or spider webs on their displays.. Also what Do I need to put a screen protector on my phone if I have the toughest glass ever made in a Phone..

Why Apple do not recognize that there is a manufacturer defect so far ???

I can not install a screen protector although my Iphone is brand new , if I am not able to clean the screen with a microfiber cloth, that is insane.. !!!
