iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

I agree. In Russia, in every review of features and cameras, you can find information about scratches.

Even here is an article review on 32,667 views from a government source vesti. Quote: “But I somehow managed to scratch the screen, it looks like some insidious grain of sand has done its job, making its way into my pocket.”

Based on my suggestion, my wife brought her scratched iphone 11 Pro Max to Apple store today and they did give her a new phone. I am not sure she was lucky and/or it is based on the account history that we have bought so many iphones, Ipads and never complaint about low scratch resistant issue or Apple knows about iphone 11 screen issue with scratching easily. Good luck to others who are seeking justification from Apple.

I have the exact same problem!

I only had the phone for two days when a deep scratch/crack appeared (something you could feel with your finger nail). While it may have come into contact with something, it is certainly was not subject to anything unusual.

This phone seems to be different in its front glass hardness.

I have never had a screen protector on my iPhone, and only very minor scratches would occur with daily, regular use. You could see them when held up to the light, but you could not feel them with your finger nail. Acceptable minor scratches with every day use.

For those that say “use a screen protector you dopes” I have a liquid screen protector on mine. I contacted Apple and they looked at the pictures and proceeded to tell me it was a part of the screen protector. Beyond frustrating. It’s a liquid screen protector. The protector adheres to the screen. It’s obvious this is an Apple manufacturing issue. Customer service also proceeded to tell me this wasn’t a “known” issue and sent me their reported issues. Makes me want to never own anything Apple. I have a smear and two scratches and I’ve done nothing but have it in my empty pocket. I have a feeling if I didn’t state it had a liquid protector they would have had another excuse.

Were you somehow under the impression that using liquid screen protection meant you couldn't get scratches? If you were, you were misinformed. Liquid is a bit better than no protection, but it can still scratch and bonus, it tends to yellow over time. It does however make the screen silky smooth to the touch.

See this article about the differences between liquid and glass --> https://www.igeeksblog.com/liquid-screen-protector-vs-tempered-glass/

I've got the same problem.

Multiple scratches on the display just by putting the iPhone in my pocket.

I just contacted the Apple Support and they told me that there was no problem with the display

and that they couldn't know what the reason for the scratches is. They just sent me a link to the prices for repairs... :(

YouTube videos showing hairline cracks on my iPhone 11 Pro

Apple deleted my report of this issue yesterday so have documented it on YouTube.

Apple Support and tech media, I am willing to be contacted about this issue. Thank you.

Nothing to add, I have the same issue as well. The screen seems to be very sensitiv and scratches appear already after two weeks. The Display did. not even her in contact with sharp or rough surfaces. Never had this issue with previous generation iPhones and I bought them since 7 Years very year. I am just back from the Apple Store in Munich and ne was told that the Display is not so anymore, but now More flexible against falling down. Not impressed at all and very very sad about the Apple behaviour. I think that I will complain on CEO Level, because my Apple Experience ist currently very negativ.

I’m relieved and so disappointed to discover this thread. I have had my phone for just over 12 hours, most of which were spent asleep. Apple, this is ridiculous: I have had 3-4 iPhones over the course of my life, dropped, caseless, and never before have I had a scratch, not to mention this early. I know it’s subtle in the photos, but it’s deep enough that my fingernail can stick in it.

Can you make a photo of the scratch?
