When I read some of these posts by people blaming users for their scratches, I'm reminded of all the times this has happened in the past and in the end it did turn out to be Apples fault. I have an idea, why don't all you defenders of Apple just read and leave it at that, as you're adding nothing to the discussion. You don't know if people had sand in their pockets, you don't know if its a scratch or a tear of some coating, you don't in fact know anything beyond what you're reading. You don't know because Apple hasn't commented officially. Clearly there's a difference between phone screen of the 11 and past Iphones.
If the phone was meant to have a phone screen protector, 1 Apple should have provided it, and/or 2, should have warned people to buy one, do you imagine Apple would miss the opportunity to sell a $30 phone screen protector?
So, my point is, Apple has proven it's never the right thing to do to blame the customer. If the customer did something they shouldn't have then there should have been a warning in the box about it.
Yes I used a screen protector on my wife's 11 but not because I thought a grain of sand would scratch, I did it to protect it against something unusual happening. That doesn't mean people who didn't put the a screen protector on did something wrong, if it was wrong then Apple should have warned people ahead of time. Apple, one way or the other is responsible.
Some how, my wife has a 4s, that has no scratches and no screen protector and it was kept in her purse, explain that.
