iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

While I agree on glass shattering if it falls - this is not the case for the majority of the posts here.

I am sorry but I do understand get why I am forced to get 200€ Apple Care or a Screen protector with a new iPhone in order to avoid major scratches in the first 1-2 months while using a brand new iPhone with an supposedly improved screen.

I do understand small scratches coming from time to time over years due to regular daily use, but the way how easily some of the screens of the iPhone 11 Pro are getting scratched is just out of the ordinary. I literally scratched my iPhone from putting it on a table or in my pocket.

Will not return it just for that as they are from the tiniest type, i.e. can't see them without direct bright artificial light next to them, but it leaves bad taste given the phone price tag.

Honestly, that's what the return policy is for.

Return or exchange it because it's clear it's already left you with a poor impression.

For the same reason you need to get a clear bra to protect the nose of a $140,000 Porsche to protect it from rock chips.

Environmental factors happen, and a screen protector is literally the least expensive thing you could purchase to protect your investment from accidental damage.

Apple show the phone being dropped and put in a bag with loads of other items in their TV ads. They don’t show someone buying a screen protector and installing it because the phone easily damaged. Check out Apple commercials on their official YouTube page and see for yourself.

In my opinion we should be able to use the phone as Apple have suggested in their commercials without worrying about damaging or breaking the phone.

That's irrelevant example. More realistic for our case would be get new car which advertised as "the strongest painting ever" instead of previous model of same vendor. And then after washing in same place which you have used few years with you previous vehicle you will find lot of scratches appeared. Old model never experienced anything like that.

That's how most of us feeling now.

Ok... nearing the end of day 6.

i have vigorously taken this thing out of my pocket throughout the day. I have vigorously rubbed this thing back and forth and up and down my pant leg and shirt to clean the screen off throughout the day. I have vigorously rubbed my fingernail across the screen several times today. I took the leather case off and put it up against my Note 10 screen to screen and rubbed them a little.

Still not a scratch to be found.

I am not going to put it face down on a hard surface and rub it around because I know that could scratch any phone screen, but normal use has not put a single scratch on this thing yet.

I still have 8 days left to return it and I will continue to do the same as I have been trying to scratch this thing with normal use, but so far not a nothing.

I wonder if people know that even a grain of salt on a table can scratch any phone screen for example.

It seems that you are simply protecting the company again. It's your job.

But if you want to be objective, then speak on behalf of happy people whose screen does not scratch the air. But do not criticize those who met defective merchandise.

By the way. In Finland, in some top stores, some modifications of the iphone 11 (pro, max) have never appeared since the start of sales. Not a single unit. They talk about the problem with the mail. But I doubt it. Maybe Apple just stopped delivering certain shipments.

I look forward to fixing scratching frankly bad screens. Which are even scratched in the showroom. Fingers of guests. This is a company mistake. To show in the advertisement a harsh treatment with a telephone that he cannot stand in ordinary life.

Holy StIGMATa of the IPHOne, Yes. Same here. the scratches are just happening effortlessly. I thought perhaps there was a manufacturer protective sticker over the screen that I had not figured how to remove .. like on your car stereo.. I even went to the At&t store and I said “is there like a screen on here that I don’t know how to take off” I couldn’t believe that these scratches!! all my other iPhones I’ve had for a year each time and I’ve never had this occur EVER .. and all these scratches is the first week and more the second .. at this rate .. the phone is going to split in half.. or maybe the my screen scratches will strike gold or better yet water.

Why some people who ”used screen protector on every iPhone” are so eager to tell that we shouldn’t address this serious material failure here? This is not about you - and you haven’t helped anyone. You haven’t told anything we wouldn’t know. Almost all of us who are having this problem in our iPhone 11’s are long long term loyal Apple users and we have seen very clearly ourselves that the glass in 11gen gets scratches extremely easily, while previous models we had did not. So just to help you - stop interfering a matter that is not you matter. This is just a free advice, I’m not going

to buy this forum quite yet.

Oh dear William....I did contact Apple directly and they didn't help me....your comments indicate you miss the point on this whole affair.

Apple say "toughest" and that you can drop your phone, carry it in a bag with lots of other items, without screen protectors etc in their TV ad's. See for yourself on their official YouTube page. The implication is it is fine for customers to do the same. However, it's clear from the evidence here it is not.

They don't show a client buying a screen protector, case and wrapping the phone up in a micro fibre when they carry it around, ergo the message is you don't have to take these precautions.

In my opinion, due to the above, their ad's are misleading and there will be implications for Apple dependent on the country of sale. If they don't deal with complaints and clients are left unhappy, in this day and age, people will express their dissatisfaction on forums and social media. That's just human nature, besides what else is one to do if one can't get help for Apple.

What other manufactures do is irrelevant as is the fact the phone is made of glass. Neither has anything to do with Apple customers.

In summary the problem is not with users as you suggest, it's with Apple and their decisions leading up to the release of this phone.
