iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

Just curious though have you held up to your phone to an LED light bulb most people seem to think that their phones are fine because they either A can not see anything from the naked eye and or using traditional house hold bulbs, and florescent bulbs which are bright but not quiet as bright as say an LED off a flashlight. I only ask this because if you look at my old phone now my wife's which is an X you can not see any scratch what-so-ever even under normal florescent lighting yet if I hold the power bank that i got off Amazon boy does it tell a whole another story of the phone.

Got my Iphone 11 pro max days ago and I have the same issue as well. I noticed a hairline scratch /smudge which can only be noticed in a bright light at the right side of the phone (facing the phone) near the selfie camera. I don’t know what to do 😢 feeling sad buying a very expensive phone and ended up regretting due to this incident

I have been on the phone with a senior advisor and then they told me to send photos which I did. Videos and photos. They said again it’s cosmetic and I said to them it’s unacceptable. I have metal flaking on the bezel too.

She said she would reserve me a genius appointment and ask them to be open minded about a swap.

I’ll mention trading standard and small claims court too.

My issue is the screen looks perfect unless it’s under a bright bright light and then suddenly hundreds of micro scratches. So disappointing.

I’ve noticed that the screens on 2 of our 4 new iPhone 11’s are defective. My son dropped a plastic cup and it seriously shattered his screen. Less than a week later, my daughter’s phone with a screen protector on it shattered under the screen protector while in her backpack. The screen protector was unscathed by the way, which is quite odd. Thank God we have the Apple Care on our phones because we had to replace two screens in less than a month of owning the phones. This never happened with any of our iPhone 8’s in over two years, which leads me to believe that the quality is very poor on the new iPhones.

Hello Apple-Team,

as well I finally bought my new iPhone 11 and it is a great device.

The cameras are really good and it's velocity in using everyday apps

is very good.

Because of the high trust in your Products I'm not afraid of investing

more money in buying a Mac, iPad, iPhone,... instead of devices from

others companies. From my point of view it would be great to have

also a trustful display in my iPhone 11 that avoid scratches in the usual

quality as in the models before. Sadly I have deep scratches. How would

you feel? A solution for me would be to invest the time and money to travel

to the next Apple Store, there they copy my content to a new iPhone 11

without the scratch problem and without costs for the customer. For me

this would be fair and the usual trust (because of the behavior to treat

a loyal customer) would be back. What do you think?

It would be great to hear something from you and please you make

99% a very very great work. For instance I love my MacBook Pro 16"

and the aspect that you realized many of the feedback and constructive

critics you got from your loyal fans.

Many greetings to California ;-)

Same issue. Slight scratch but still noticeable. Some how my Iphone Se lasted 4 years without any scratches. This is clearly a manufacturing defect that apple doesn't want to address. I believe they totally know about this and it is all a ploy to get people to buy Apple Care. Spend $900 on a phone and the junky $2 screen protector is more durable. Has anyone had any luck getting their screen replaced?

It’s been 4 months since your post, have you been able to resolve anything with Apple?

while getting my nails done, my phone sat face up in front of me. I carried my phone on my hand to pay. My debit card is kept in a card folio attached to my phone. While paying, my phone remained in my hand and was the only item in my hand. After paying, I walked out the door and about 30 yards to my vehicle with my phone still in my hand. I am able to unlock my vehicle door by touching the door handle while my key fob remained in my pocket. While my phone was still on my hand, I went to text my husband and saw a two inch scratch on the same area as your phone is scratched. I thought I was totally losing my mind! There is NO EXPLANATION AS TO HOW THAT SCRATCH APPEARED! Now get this...my husband text me today and was mad that a scratch randomly appeared on his phone. I just asked him to see the scratch and he said it is no longer there! It disappeared! What the...?!

I also have trouble with touching screen/trying to close out an app or touching “send” of “ok” or “submit” prompts. One would think that would be an issue with the app or website but it happens on multiple apps & websites. By far, this is the worse iPhone yet.

I absolutely agree. The Apple store today made me feel embarrassed that I would bother them with this issue. They tried to make out that I was at fault. They suggested as their device wasn’t showing signs of wear it must be me and that wear and tear on a glass screen is normal so it’s to be expected. Honestly couldn’t believe it and just left. I felt like a naughty u trustworthy school kid, it wasn’t a nice experience at all.

Just wondering how many people who say they do not have scratches on their iPhones have actually held them up to led bulbs as opposed to standard house hold lights and florescent. I went to the apple store one day to see if they had something in stock, while there I over heard a conversation between a specialist and a customer stating that their phone screen was defected. I waited until the customer left and pointed out that the employee was seriously mistaken about the screen being easily scratched. He then proceeded to pull his phone out to show me that with a glass screen protector and otter box case he had no marks what so ever on his phone. I pulled out the same light I use to inspect mine while cleaning and loan be hold his phone was covered in scratches from the bezel the screen even the apple logo. What he said next to me made me laugh when he asked where I got the light from. So clearly this is known issue.
