iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

That's unbelievable!! The iPhone 11 Pro cost a fortune and Apple seems not want to help at all...
As a big Apple fan I'm really disappointed and most probably that was my last iPhone....

Just remember, every other flagship smartphone scratches just as easily if not more so.

I bought an 11 Pro back in November. For two years up to this, I was using a 6s without a screen protector. I continued to use the 6s as a work phone, so it lived in my pocket with the new 11 Pro. Within a week the 11 Pro had a several surface scratches, and has collected more since. The 6s that has been kept in the SAME POCKET (and is two years older), hasn’t got a single scratch.

Extremely disappointing.

I have the same issue. My iPhone 11 has been in a case from the beginning (a case purchased from the apple store). There is an imperfection on the glass that has been covered by the case the entire life of the phone (apart from when I have taken the case off to clean)! I have no idea how it got there since there has been a case on the phone the whole time... Not impressed with how fragile the display is. It also seems like the side aluminum is getting worn down after only a month of use! Maybe this case is too tight? I am not hard on my phones at all. My iPhone 7 Plus has been through a lot more and has had far less cosmetic issues.

Did you remove the screen protector because it was damaged or because it was not entirely cover the screen?

You may want to check what else is in the pocket/bag where you keep your phone, as there appears to be heavy marks on your case as well - close to where the screen scratches are. Film-style screen protectors don't do a good job of keep scratches away (or just about anything for that matter)... it's better to spend a bit more for the glass ones.

I have the same issue! I purchased 2 iPhone 10s and 2 iPhone 11s and my phone has many scratches from placing it in my pocket. My old iPhone 8 looked better after 3 years then my new iPhone 11 did after 1 day! I think we have enough people on this thread to put an official complaint or even explore other options to take action and have Apple rectify this! Apple please review this complaint and offer some sort of resolution.

We have the same problem with iPhone 11pro Max it has been in a protective case from day one with a flip over cover to protect the screen and never put in a pocket always in my partners handbag yet yesterday a scratch deep enough to be felt with your fingernail appeared on the surface of the screen, we would appreciate any assistance from anybody that can advise what we should do to fix/remedy this or is it the coating that needs to be replaced/repaired is this something that Apple should do f.o.c.

🤞🏻

I guess you have never owned another phone before because no they don't. None of the other dozen different phones, including previous model iphones, have ever scratched this easily. Don't be an apple apologist.

I never, ever smashed the screen on any phone, iPhone or otherwise until last week when I dropped my iPhone 7+ and it shattered. So, using your logic, and based on my experience, all iPhone 7+ phones have a defective screen because no other phone I've ever had or dropped has broken.

Or, it could just have been I finally got unlucky.

There is an 11 Pro in my hand. Major splurge but, as I'm only buying phones every three years or so, I rationalized it.

The camera is astonishing, despite what people have said in that other thread. It takes amazing low light pictures. I'm still getting used to the lack of Home button. I had the Home button set so that it would unlock by just resting my finger on it. The whole swiping to unlock isn't ingrained yet. I've just started to play with Voice Control. The 7+ really didn't work well if that was enabled.

The neat thing about waiting three or four years to buy a new phone is that the new phone seems sooooo much better than the old one.

@kpfoley: Once again, pictures or it didn't happen.

If sand really is everywhere and glass really is glass is glass and the iPhone 11 really is as hard on the Mohs scale as you've previously claimed before on multiple occasions, not having even a microscratch without a screen protector on is nothing short of a miracle. Or do you live in a hermetically sealed bubble?

I have just got my iPhone 11 and only had it since Friday and I have had the same problem as you I have gone and scratched my screen but only really faintly and yet I've only had my iPhone for 4 days and I was really upset with myself but its not just that I think it was because I have been to over protective with it since Friday and personally think I've scratched it but accidental so I know how you both feel on that one I really
