iPhone 11 screen scratches

my wife and me have put our brand new iphones 11 inside our pocket pants and both screens get scratched the second day of use (mines right in the selfie camera, apple says “without mal function”...). Has someone experimented somethg similar? We are really dissapointed, apple only cares if you have bought “apple care”....we cant use the screen without a protection: worst screen ever....👎

The same happened to my iPhone Pro. I just got it yesterday and kept it in a pocket with nothing else. Less than a day later and there's already a scratch. I didn't have this problem with the iPhone X.

That’s my first message her after 13 happy years of iPhone usage. I have never had a complaint before.

but: why are there so many scratches coming out of nowhere? Never dropped, never with keys/coins in the pocket...

I just treat my iPhone 11 like all the others I have had before, and the screen is full of scratches.

Genius Bar told me, they can’t do anything. Sure, offered to replace the screen for 200 bucks, I perceived that as very inappropriate.

Apple, You should do something if you don’t want to lose many unsatisfied customers.

I don't hate you, I just feel like you may not be entirely truthful here. You claim to have examined your screen with an electron microscope and found no scratches even with that, which is virtually impossible even if your screen is completely scratch free to the naked eye. Once again, seeing is believing, share this allegedly perfect screen and pictures taken with the electron microscope and I might just believe you.

If you can't recognize humor (after someone was repeatedly posting about needing a special LED light to see any scratches), I'm not surprised you don't recognize how irrational this thread's "scratchgate" is in the light of the rest of the world being completely ignorant of any problems despite 10s of millions of iPhone 11s having been sold.

It's also obviously irrational to believe that a picture of a scratch free phone proves anything, just as I wouldn't be convinced in the face of all the contrary evidence by a photo of an iPhone on which someone may have drawn a "scratch" with a white wax pencil. But as a scientist, I'm used to the public being irrational.

I had the exact same issue. I've owned every iPhone iteration since the iPhone 4 and within one day there were serious scratches with my iPhone 11 Pro Max. NEVER have I seen this in an iPhone. On week 2 I dropped it from 3 feet above the ground and the screen shattered. I've never shattered an iPhone screen in my life, yet this "strongest glass ever in a smartphone" scratches and shattered within a couple weeks?? The worst part about all of this is that Apple is untouchable when it comes to us several thousand people with the same issue. They ended up replacing the screen since I did buy apple care (thank heavens) and with my new screen I haven't seen any scratches whatsoever. It's clear that the new screen is NOT the same as the old one. *** IS GOING ON HERE, APPLE!? OWN THE ISSUE AND OFFER A RECALL

You don't have to believe her. And you likely won't believe me, but when you hit a certain level on this forum, like she and I have, you get to join an inner forum with the Apple Hosts who run this forum. We're very well informed on how this forum works and Idris is right, whether you want to believe it or not. You can waste your time complaining here, with a false believe it's making a difference, or you can provide feedback via the feedback link, call Apple directly or visit your Apple Store Genius Bar, where your voice will actually be heard. It's certainly not being heard by ANY cognizant Apple employees on this forum.

Believe what you want and complain as often as you want on this forum. I'm by no means telling you to stop posting. I'm suggesting you're wasting your time as we're telling you the truth because we get to speak with Apple directly in the inner-forum. Just know that posting your complaints here get's you nothing, but complain away and as often as you like if it makes you happy. Or do as we suggest, which does actually bring your issue to Apple's attention directly. Your choice entirely.

Sadly, I believe you're wasting your time with this one. They won't see that we're trying to help them. Oh, well.

Have a great weekend.

I'll answer your question since I saw it via email. And the answer is absolutely not. I'm a user just like you're a user. But I've been on this forum for at least a full decade now and I respond to a lot of threads actually trying to help people with their issues with their iPhone/iPad/Apple Watch. I'm one of those nerds who enjoys figuring out why someone can't do something and help them do what they want, or what they need to do when get locked out of their phone because they've forgotten their passcode, etc. I get absolutely nothing in the form of compensation or products. Users award me points for helping them and that's it. It's actually nice when I'm able to provide help to someone and I answer their question.

And you have a great weekend too!

I have the same issues. I had a scratch on it within the first few days of using it even though I was very careful not to put it anywhere where it would come into contact with keys or other sharp objects. A few months later I now have 4 scratches on the screen. This has never happened with any of my other iphones.
