iOS 13.1 cutting off text of forwarded emails?

Since moving to iOS 13.1, my iPhone 7 has been cutting off emails that are being forwarded when using the Apple Mail icon on the iPhone. If you look at the forwarded email, it only includes the subject line of the earlier/previous email and cuts off the rest of the text of the email. I changed the iPhone setting to use "Complete Threads" and that seemed to resolve it, but then the issue came back, so I had to turn the iPhone completely Off then back on. Turning off and on seemed to resolve it temporarily. Is there a permanent fix to this email problem? Thanks!

Hi,

I have found this also. It's definitely an iOS 13 issue (along with lots of other new Mail app bugs that are annoying - so much so that for my personal iPad and email I have moved to using the Outlook app), and needs fixing. I have to use the Apple Mail app for my work iPad and iPhone, and have discovered a workaround in the meantime....

Click on the email you want to forward.

"Select All" text in the email.

Now click on the (arrow and) "Forward" button.

Now you should find all the email below as normal.

i have nothing but issues with Mail app and my work emails since the latest iOS update!! Hours on the phone and chat and finally got an appointment in store last week, they ended up resetting my whole(!!) phone saying that this will fix the issue - it didn’t!

i bc an experiencing the same issue, that the content of an forwarded email gets cut off, but also when someone sends an email with another email attached I cannot open it, it displays as a mime format and you can share drop save etc but not just ‘open’ !!! I’m at my whits end with Apple and I hope this will be fixed soon, or.... also I absolutely hate the new filing into subfolders, was so much easier before. I wish I could just restore to previous IOS version but Apple says not possible?!

Just switched from an X to 11 Pro and updated to the 13.20 update. The messages and attachments when replying to e-mails are still being cut off when replying. Duplicate e-mails are still being produced. You have to press the e-mail messages twice before they’re shown as read. There are synchronicity issues with outlook. Draft e-mails are not being saved. All in all and in true fashion Apple are not admitting there is an issue and won’t until they just release the next update - which needs to be addressed and fixed immediately please. It is affecting my ability to run my business. Please sort these issues out which have existed ever since the 13.0 update came out in September 2019. Thank you

Truncating mails are not the only issue. After upgrading to 13, my phone can no longer be silenced. I upgraded to Catalina on my Mackbook Pro, cannot tell you how many issues. Got rid of it and bought a Lenovo X1 Yoga. If apple cannot resolve the phone issue I will do the same and buy a Samsung. Brand loyalty goes only so far, it is not worth the frustration. It causes productivity issues and wastes time.

Spent hours with chat yesterday but no solution. Talked with my IT guy to see if it was on our end but isnt. I know this because I don't have the same issues when I get my exchange email via the Outlook IOS app.

Just got off the horn with live agent and she elevated my problem to tech support and scheduled a time to call me back on Thursday AM. Hard to believe that this problem hasn't been elevated up the flag pole by now but maybe I'm an anomaly and most aren't using Apple as a business tool ?

Apple Tech Supoort is supposed to call me tomorrow AM with an explanation / fix. I have not been able to duplicate the problem when I use the Outlook App for email and it's not happening in my Gmail accounts so it has to be in the operating system ??

Need a new phone so I'm considering a switch to another platform. This issue has cost me enough already :/

Out of all the Mail bugs in iOS 13 (and there are several), this has to be the worst. If I can't Reply or Forward messages because there is a high probability that the original message text will be stripped then it's not worth even using the Mail app. How did any of this make it through their QA testing??? Mail in iOS 12 had zero issues. And here we are with numerous iOS 13 patches since the initial 13.0 release and not a single Mail bug has been fixed!

I am seeing this too. We just upgraded 3 phones and they no longer cut off the text when forwarding. However, we are now seeing a new bug. If you try to forward a message that has an attachment, it asks if you want to include the attachment and if you want to download the rest of the message first. If you say yes the attachment placeholder shows up in the recipients iPhone but it is not viewable.

If you download the attachment in the original message first and then forward it you get the same prompts and the attachment forwards properly. Small bug with an easy workaround but still a problem.

I use for both business and personal. I too will be looking seriously at alternatives, at the very least on a personal level (unfortunately I can't control the business aspects as it's a large multi-national company), but I will continue to lobby for the business to move away from a platform that is designed by a company that is ****-bent on doing it "their way".

Time and again, they "fix" what isn't broken, and tinker with pointless things that are almost designed to test our patience. Every time I go to find it, I still can't believe that auto-brightness is in any section other than "display & brightness" !!!

Only by people doing this again and again and affecting Apple's profitability will they see the error of their ways. The arrogance in the way they force updates (no going back once it's done!), change functionality and then charge you through the nose for the privilege is prodigious. I honestly had to question, when the iPhone X was launched, if I was surprised or not about the pricing. In the end I just came up with the vision that somewhere in a boardroom in Cupertino, someone just went "you know what, we've taken the **** for years with our pricing, but let's just see who really has more money than brain cells by pricing this one at the stupid level we were going to, but tack on an extra 50%, just to see....."
