Change the voice. The Uh-Huh seems to be associated with the South American Female voice option.
For instance the American Male has proper, respectful, intelligent sounding replies. I’m sure others do as well, you’d just have to try out different ones.
Or just don't wait between "Hey, Siri" and your question. Siri only says that if you pause. So, no pause, no uh-huh.

I agree. I don’t like it.
So did you tell Apple?
Meanwhile, you can avoid ever hearing "Uh huh?" if you don't pause between "Hey, Siri" and your question.
Turn off Hey Siri and use the side button instead
OK, I called Apple and they did not know about this issue, cant believe no one has called before me, however they had NO clue how to address it, so Tech told me to post to the following web site and the developers would see it and address it. yea right :)
Post your Siri response here.....

I have the same issue. Siri’s response is rude! It dramatically changes the quality of the relationship with Siri. How can you feel good interacting with someone who is blatantly disrespectful. Apple needs to modify its software!
You do understand, don't you, that Siri is not a "someone". Siri is a computer program.
if you want Apple to know how you feel, use the feedback page:
As Siri is part of the operating system, I'd just use iPhone. Select Feature Request, Bug Report or Other, depending on your inclination. As long as you clearly explain yourself in the text box, the feedback will be properly routed.

I find the Irish voice works. If you scroll back you will see someone posted a link to Apples actual "complaint" site. Good luck!
If you look at the post immediately above yours, you'll see the feedback link.

Is it the same as my solution? Don't let the intrusive devil listen in on every second of our lives?
Um, no. The solution I've given several times is to not leave a pause between "Hey, Siri..." and your request. The pause was necessary in older, slower devices but is not now
Te uh-huh is social experiment. It’s a way to make Siri sound more personable, more human. Interesting that people find this disrespectful and annoying. I think it speaks volumes on how we want to be spoken to and perceived. Some think of Siri as a professional assistant others as a casual friend so I’m guessing that’s why there’s the knee-jerk reaction to it. Using my Apple Watch I’ve moved to the raise wrist and ask a question without saying “hey Siri” and I like it so much better, it’s more direct, faster and I don’t need an acknowledgement that she’s listening. In any event I think Apple should probably give us the option for a Siri professional and a Siri casual.
But it isn't broken, you just don't like it. But take heart Apple tends to change this periodically but they prefer it be short to reduce bandwidth. Maybe next they will change it to "You bro!". I'm sure you will then be happier.

Whoever programmed this response for a so called smart phone must spend one day with a life!
Speaking of poor communication skills, what does that mean?
You should let Apple know your thoughts here:
Hello ~ Steve Jobs …maybe? Uh huh!! The fact of the matter is that “Siri “ is a personal assistant not a person and is programmed to respond in a certain way. Work around the response as directed. It is quite easily accomplished. Contact Apple …we cannot change it as we are users just like you are here in this forum.

Why can't Apple just have Siri say "how can I help?" when awakening, or something more normal. This is a bad new feature, IMO.
I'm sure they could. Obviously, they don't want to. However, you can let them know how you feel here:
This is also not a recent update. I believe it's been this way since at least the release of the iPhone 11, possibly earlier. You just wouldn't have noticed it if you had an older, slower phone.

It’s just a poorly designed user interface and frankly I’m surprised that with so many unhappy users that Apple isn’t doing something to be more responsive to its customers’ concerns.
Cease pausing after summoning, log feedback with Apple, and request Apple add support to allow entry of an honorific appropriate.
Same! So disrespectful! Apple store Genius Bar said there’s no way to change it 😱
