Change the voice. The Uh-Huh seems to be associated with the South American Female voice option.

For instance the American Male has proper, respectful, intelligent sounding replies. I’m sure others do as well, you’d just have to try out different ones.

Or just don't wait between "Hey, Siri" and your question. Siri only says that if you pause. So, no pause, no uh-huh.

I have the same issue. Siri’s response is rude! It dramatically changes the quality of the relationship with Siri. How can you feel good interacting with someone who is blatantly disrespectful. Apple needs to modify its software!

You do understand, don't you, that Siri is not a "someone". Siri is a computer program.

Te uh-huh is social experiment. It’s a way to make Siri sound more personable, more human. Interesting that people find this disrespectful and annoying. I think it speaks volumes on how we want to be spoken to and perceived. Some think of Siri as a professional assistant others as a casual friend so I’m guessing that’s why there’s the knee-jerk reaction to it. Using my Apple Watch I’ve moved to the raise wrist and ask a question without saying “hey Siri” and I like it so much better, it’s more direct, faster and I don’t need an acknowledgement that she’s listening. In any event I think Apple should probably give us the option for a Siri professional and a Siri casual.

Why can't Apple just have Siri say "how can I help?" when awakening, or something more normal. This is a bad new feature, IMO.

I'm sure they could. Obviously, they don't want to. However, you can let them know how you feel here:

This is also not a recent update. I believe it's been this way since at least the release of the iPhone 11, possibly earlier. You just wouldn't have noticed it if you had an older, slower phone.
