Deleting Multiple Images in imessage

In iOS12 you used to be able to easily select multiple images in imessage to delete (hit "i" then go to photos, hold down...more, select all the photos you wanted to, hit delete), with iOS13 it looks like you have to select each picture, then hit delete, confirm delete attachment. Not only that you can only do this for one picture at a time, further attempts to select and delete pictures doesn't work. You have to leave the info screen, go back to the chat, rehit "i" and start all over. Is there a way to select and delete multiple images at one time with the new iOS?

I believe that this is the unethical reason why they removed such a useful feature. They want you to have to upgrade your storage by making it more time-consuming and difficult to delete multiple photos at once. I’m really starting to hate Apple update by update.

“Tap every photo you want to delete. Tap the trash icon and the Photos will delete.” Wrong! On both iPhone 7 and iPhone 8, even with the latest 13.3 iOS), instead of “...and the Photos will delete,” correctly: “...and the Messages app crashes”, especially if you tick more than 3 photos in the thread. Please address this bug!

Totally agree! So tired of people telling us how to delete a picture!!! Of course we know how to! There is something wrong with iMessage on iOS 13. Maybe some people don’t have the issue but many many people do have an issue!! At least we can now delete more than on picture at a time on iMessage like before iOS 13, but still issues that some pictures will not delete no matter what you do! Hate it. Please fix!!!!

Hi! I have had this problem on my new iphone11 and on my iPad since installing iOS 13!!!! Never ever had this problem with ios12. I have contacted Apple 5 times about this, they know it’s been an issue since update came out. Now, not only can’t I delete certain pictures, but more have reappeared that were deleted!! So, the answer is, Apple has to fix the issue, and again, I don’t need people telling me how to delete a photo or attachment! Problem is with software , not us using it!!!!!

I agree that I don't think it's about buying more storage. However, the way that the original question was posted was much less frustrating than your suggested way. Yes, I've been using the More feature for years for when I needed to delete recent stuff but every once in a while I like to go in and delete the unnecessary photos from the history. Doing it your way is not efficient because most text threads contain... texts. The i screen groups the photos for easy management. As for getting used to new stuff, yes we will but for a smart device to be upgraded to a new iOS usually means that it's gotten more efficient and iOS 13 lost a lot of the intuitive ways of versions before. Here's hoping they hear our frustration.

I’ll give your link a try to let them know about the loss of functionality.

You mentioned the More option again, which I said was tedious because of the amount of text messages you have to scroll through in the thread but then you said “you can now delete as many photos as you want using the Info button”. That’s the functionality that I (and others) no longer have! So you’re saying you have it??? Hmmm, I wonder what happened to my iOS that it no longer does it on mine but you now have it. Is it new for you? I’ve had it for years but you phrased it as if you NOW have it. Maybe I just need to wait for it to come back. Hopefully not too long. It’s very unfortunate and a waste of space on my phone.
