iphone 11 pro max crashing

Since 10/2/19 i have encounter a bug where my iphone 11 pro max is crashing. The phone will randomly shut down and restart it self. I could be watching youtube or doing anything on any app and the phone will shut down and restart, even on full charge. At one instance it did that multiple times in a row. Every time it would restart i would add my passcode and get on home screen and it would crash again. It just did that today too. I am currently on the latest update 13.1.2. Anybody else have the same problem?

I just rec’d a new iPhone 11 Pro Max 2 days ago. After charging (came with zero charge) and backing up from ICloud, it began to just shut down. I’d put the phone down and pick it up to a black screen. Would have to press the button and apple logo would appear and password due to restart was required. Went through apple support and after HOURs of effort including updating iTunes, and doing the update through iTunes, the problem persisted. I was told it must be SW related and it was suggested I set up as a new phone. Reluctantly I tried this and after about 7-8 hours where I slowly MANUALLY reset up and configured my phone , linked to my watch etc the problem resurfaced. The same exact issue and sometimes it would even turn itself on when I picked up the phone (no button press). So off to the apple store I went where the analytics showed multiple “panic” logs. They confirmed it was HW then and provided me a replacement for my 2 day old phone. Apparently the guy had never seen this on this phone but this thread has me wondering. So for those of you with this same issue - it’s not your case. It’s not your SW. And it’s not from copying the image from your old phone. Check the analytics log and look for files that say panic... apparently just a couple is not an issue but if there are several.... red flag. Problem will not just resolve itself.

I deleted youtube but that did not help.

Here is something peculiar. I decided to backup and then restore the iphone. When I plugged the iphone (using the old USB 2 to lightning bolt cable, not the USB C to lightning bolt cable that came with it) itunes in the computer saw the iphone but would not see anything in it. Meaning that there was no music, etc. And just said "iphone" without my identity.

I am now backing it up over wifi to my icloud. I will see if a full reset will fix it.

This may not matter but the color of the iphone 11 Pro Max is Midnight Green and is Verizon. My wife got her silver one (which is flawless) immediately the first day they were shipping but mine just came four days ago.

Phone reset itself overnight while charging to factory settings. Restored from iTunes. Continued crashing. Woke up day 2 to black screen of death.

Trip to Best Buy as only appointment avail today on apple site. Restored their magic way to factory settings...or not. Crashed immediately again after restoring from iTunes.

Headed back to Best Buy again as no appointments available at Genius Bar at actual store

I am not amused. I will be requesting a new unit.

As usual the rush to get products to market in time for the cyclical herds brings another inadequately tested iphone. After spending two years away from apple using samsung and pixel, I personally found all to have their share of shortcomings.

For the price point of the iphone 11 updating software every week to have one bug fix cause a host of others is unacceptable. Besides being overly controlled by limitations in apps and fixed user control options, Iphone after my last (iphone7 plus)has not been impressive.

Same with me. But it didn’t start happening until I installed iOS 13.2.

How bad is it? It crashed twice while I was trying to enter my password to include this reply. I finally gave up and used my iPad instead. Which is also using iOS 13.2. Without problems.

I have tried moist off the fixes above. Except fully re-installing all the software. That will take hours because I have so many photos. I’m hoping that a new update will fix the problem.

my confidence and Apple software is about zero now after the most recent update bricked one of my HomePods. Sent off for replacement.

A replacement is a hassle. You never know what you get in return. Maybe the new one have yellow tint, maybe grayish where it should be pitch black, maybe same issue with reboots etc. I readin this forum that one guy had 3 replacements before satisfied. Also, I spoke with Apple yesterday and based on their diagnose online they said I didn’t have hardware issue and said they was 100% sure this can be fixed with software. I’m very unsure myself, should I take the chance on a replacement or should I wait for a fix... my phone is perfect in any other ways except of the reboot. If this is only a software issue, a lot of people are unnecessary returning fully functional phones instead of waiting on a fix. Apple is gonna call me back again today with an update. I hope for an fix, cause returning is frustrating.

I have the same problem. I made contact with apple support and did all the things they told me to, but nothing helped. I thought maybe it could be solved by a software update, but it didn't help and I was becoming so frustrated about the situation that I brought it back to the computerstore where I bought it. It will be weeks tomorrow that I heard something. I called the computerstore and they contacted apple. Apple said that they didn't find any problem (OMG!!) and that they were going to check it again. I f they would check it properly they would notice that the phone crashes like 5 to 10 times a day. I think it's f**king crazy, you pay 1400 euros for a phone like that. I hope apple takes their responsibility and just give me a new one. It's not only the money, but I need the phone for my job to so it's a disaster for me.

I was thinking I was the only one. I did a clean install back on day 1. 11 Pro Max randomly crashes restarts on me that I’m afraid to rely on it. I keep thinking the next update will have it fixed.

Last night I double check if set my alarm clock and the phone was off. Took me 5 minutes to get it started ( yes battery was fully charged) I ended up using my old iPhone X as a backup alarm clock.

Just today, I wasn’t doing anything on the phone. It was asleep. I picked it up and it would not wake up. I thought maybe it has run out of batteries. I connected it to the charger and it took a while for it to wake up, but when it did after a minute or two, it was at 80%. It acted as if I had shut down the iPhone, which I had not. I am disappointed to see that a number of people have had a similar problem.

I recently purchased a iPhone Pro Max

I'm having the same problem. In addition, i'm having problem with the camera.

Photos sometimes come out green. Or the come out looking OK & turn Green while looking at them.

Also, sometimes random black boxes in the pictures.

I should have kept my iPhone 8Plus. The Pro Max is JUNK.
