Since updating to iOS 13, my phone (iPhone XS) is sitting right in front of me on my desk and when someone calls, the phone doesn't ring or make a sound. It appears to happen when the phone is plugged in by cable to my MacBook Pro. I'm currently running iOS 13.1.2.
Any suggestions?

I had the same problem and after talking to several apple reps one of them finally suggested putting the device on recovery mode and resetting it from scratch (don't use a back up, once logged in to iCloud it will retrieve most of your data, I did have to manually update my apps though). This solved my issue and my phone now rings and alerts me to texts! Apparently the software was corrupt and it needed to be removed and reinstalled (resetting it to factory settings on the cloud does not remove hardware). You will need to have iTunes on a computer, below is a link to how to set it on recovery mode, hopefully it helps some of you

It’s really out of this world that Apple after so many updates have not even solved the basic issue of enabling a phone to ring. The new iOS has also caused my phone to hang!
Wondering if the reason I don't get iMessage notifications when both my iphoneX and Apple Watch are locked is related to this? More and more frustrating by the day and missing important calls...

guess it isnt fixed. Bloody phone rings once and hangs up by itself. this 13.3 update really is a ****** one. Even apple support have no clue and ask the dumbest questions.
I've already updated to the latest and it has not solved the issue. Most people posting have done the same.

I have also had the problem with no ring for audio calls. Missed quite a few.
i also noticed there was no vibration- which I have on, whether the silent switch is on or off.
and then tonight, I was holding my phone and answered 2 calls and couldn’t hear, and could not be heard.
did 6 test calls. Tried Speaker phone, Bluetooth headsets. Absolutely no audio coming through.
Rebooted, and now it’s working again, but this is a serious issue, since it’s unknown what causes it, or how to tell it’s happening until you get a call you can’t hear or speak with.
So, reboot your phone if it’s happening, and report it to Apple.
Reboot and test. I don’t know when my problem started, but it basically escalated from just not getting notifications, to no audio whatsoever.
the music app worked fine, all other audio was fine, just phone calls weren’t passing audio in either direction. .
it was fine after powering off and then powering on.
i am hoping that the problem does not return, but if it does:
a) I know a reboot should fix it
b) it’s obvious there is a bug in the software
In Ios 13.2 beta the problem is still there. I send a feedback with the feedback assistant. Is very frustrating. I also tried factory reset and problem persists. But in my case it seems to work randomly.. Example: 5 minutes works, 8 hours doesn’t, again 10 min works, again doesn’t work and so on.
