iPhone not ringing after iOS 13 update

Watch OS 6.1 is out. Try updating to that aswell.

After the latest update (13.1.2) my phone has stopped ringing for incoming calls. Tried all possible options by changing settings and even switching it off n on again. It rang only the 1st time after being switched on and then again back to no rings. It’s very frustrating when I m unaware of important calls coming in from business sources since the phone doesn’t ring at all. Seems like many other people are also facing the same issues. Please resolve this bug soon.

How do you add the flashing light? I have the same issue.

One thing, I turned on "Silence Unknown Callers" which I thought means if the caller id says "unknown" then it will block it . That is a feature I've been waiting for / sending Apple feedback for since iOS 3!

I wonder if it actually means that it will block any caller that isn't in my contacts. That would not be the feature I was looking for. Some people might want it, though.

I’ve had the same problem since the update was done a few days ago. Yesterday Apple support had me restore from backup, which didn’t work also restore my iPhone to factory settings, which did not work either. I checked the volumes in the do not disturb and all is OK just know ringtones or text tones so I am missing texts and phone calls. I’m wondering if since after you do the restore that it still loads iOS 13.1.2 and that is the problem.

None of that works, including factory settings reset. All that the apple tech support rep a suggested didn’t work. It still loads iOS 13.1.2, which is the problem. Hopefully, they’ll release a bug fix soon.

I’m not having the issue with my phone, but I am having the same exact issue with my iPad Pro since updating to the iOS 13.1.2. When a call is coming in it’s showing up on my iPad, but it’s not ringing when my iPad is locked and it doesn’t show up in my notifications if the call is missed. If my iPad is unlocked, then it rings, but still doesn’t show up in my notifications as a missed call. However, when someone FaceTimes me, then it does ring and shows up in my notifications. I’m glad I’m not having the issue with my phone, but when I’m home my phone is on silent mode and I rely on my iPad ringing to let me know about a call coming in. There is a major issue with the new iOS 13.1.2 upgrade.

Join the club...I've restored my Iphone XR with no luck. Reset every setting prior to that point as well.

Phone worked fine up until the IOS 13 update then all kind of weirdness!

A reboot will fix it for about one phone call then it goes silent. The only good thing is I don't hear the annoying SPAM calls anymore so thanks to the Apple Quality Test team on that one.

I have the same problem with my phone not ringing. I can’t send a screenshot either. If I want to send a screenshot I have to turn the phone off and on same as to get it to ring a few times. Very Frustrating!! If I have my Apple Watch on, my watch will ring when I get a call.

Just discovered something interesting. If I have my Bluetooth headphones on, listening to music etc and a call or text comes in everything is normal. Texts and calls. Turn off headphones and no go for anything... 🤷‍♂️ Turn Bluetooth back on and can hear phone ringing and texts tones in my earbuds.

ios 13.1.2 is silenting the incoming calls. On my iphone 7 , now that has no sound for incoming calls , if I press the side button it rejects the call. When I was receving calls with sound, first press - silent , second press - reject . So I think that it only silents the calls (like I did when I presed the side button) .

So get a load of this one....after spending an hour on chat last night with Apple support I filled them in that I completed every phase of their suggestions and asked what to do next after all of there solutions did not work...they tell me to take it to BEST BUY and pay the technician according to the technician’s pay scale. Hahaha...they are trying to not accept responsibility at all for this issue. I wrote back and said this is Apple’s responsibility and many people are going through the same problems due to This lousy update. Is this absolutely amazing????? I’m calling in tomorrow this is unacceptable

I think Bluetooth is somehow connected. After doing the factory reset, which didn’t fix anything, the next time I got into my vehicle I had to pair my iPhone 8’s again.

After that, I started get text and ringtones for a little while, but then both stopped working again.

I have heard that if you backed up your phone on ICloud previously with the 12 update and have not since backed it up on the cloud since you installed the 13 update that you may be able to restore the old back up back on. Unfortunately for me I don’t use iCloud backup at all so I’m hosed. 👎

That worked! I installed 13.2 and tested calls and txt with friends and the notifications are coming through. I didn't really want to install beta version of iOS but I cannot really go too many days without being notified (10 day thus far), so this solution worked for me. Thanks TonyInNAZ! Really appreciated the suggestion!
