Apple TV closes while pandora is playing

my issue is almost exactly the same but my whole TV turns off in addition to the Apple TV. It only happens when I’m listening to the Pandora app and it just started about a week ago.

I’ve tried removing Pandora and re-installing, logging in and same issue.

I reinstalled and problem continues.

I'm hoping so, too! I don't manually trigger updates for my apps on the Apple TV, but I can tell you it was still an issue this morning on mine... I don't know when they updated it, though...

Uninstalling and reinstalling Pandora did not fix the problem for me. Neither did powering off the Apple TV. Unplugged and replugged both cables. No change. Pandora is the only app that does this, so I think the blame is in the app, not the hardware or OS.

Ill take the Spotify comment back, tested it last night and it works as expected. Still no update from Pandora nor apple on the issue that is affecting lost of users with a problem so ridiculous. They "fixed" something that didnt need a fix.

I have never found a Pandora specific sleep setting. If you have, please be more specific as to the exact menu sequence you used to find it. We know that there is a global sleep setting, but changing that is not a solution because other apps do not trigger the sleep setting when running. It’s particular to Pandora and only started after the last update.

The timer function was somehow reset... the "Sleep After" setting got reset to 15 minutes.

On your Apple TV go to: Settings> General> Sleep After and change it from 15 mins. to never. Once I changed it, it stopped turning off automatically.

I take no credit for this. These were the instruction that user Yuleuloo gave and it worked for me. It no longer shuts off after 15 mins. since I changed the time in the setting. Hope this helps you, gblaz! Good luck!!

Of course it did - because you turned off the sleep timer completely. Now your appletv will stay on forever. That’s not a solution.

Prior to this update, Pandora acted like any other app - if it was active, the sleep timer would not activate. If the TV app acted this way, it would shut off in the middle of every show.

The Pandora app needs to be fixed so that it works like other apps, and how it did before - if you were listening to music, the appletv would not go to sleep.

I totally agree, it's got to be Pandora if that is the only malfunctioning app. Contact the developers, report the problem and see what they have to say.
