notifications not working ios 13.1.2

Since installing iOS 13.1.2, I do not message notifications on either my iPhone Xr or my watch. Receives are received, but no notifications. I’ve changed settings on both watch and phone, but still no notifications. Is this a known bug? Fix on the way?

This reset worked for me as well (iPhone XS) - I was intermittently not receiving alerts for both iMessages and text messages for several months. The message would be there when I looked at my lock screen but never made a sound or vibration to alert me. What siamless typed (Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings) is the only fix that seemed to solve the problem (has worked for last 2 months).

This is what "Reset All Settings" does:

-Resets all of your device's settings like Wallpaper, Sounds, Display & Brightness, Background App Refresh, Date & Time, and more.

-Resets Wi-Fi credentials in all iCloud Keychain devices that use the Apple ID if iCloud Keychain is turned on.

-Removes all of your previously used Wi-Fi networks and passwords

-Removes your Apple Pay cards.

-Deregisters your device from iMessage and FaceTime

-Removes your Touch ID & Passcode

-If restrictions are turned on, it resets all of your restrictions.

-Removes Face ID

-Resets accessibility settings

-It removes your encrypted backup password

iOS 13 keeps getting worse. 13.2.3 and now my email account freezes up and won't update (Gmail). I Can't download new emails or send emails. Can't delete or move emails to another folder. Please tell me I'm not the only one experiencing this. Oh, and I am still experiencing the issue of my phone not ringing after a few hours after power cycling it. From what I've read, the brand new phones experience it too. Is that correct? or should I buy the brand new one? I can't take these bugs anymore...

None of the recently suggested work arounds actually work for me. One requires killing the message thread for any person whose messages you don't receive a notification about, then start a new thread. Are they kidding? Delete entire discussion threads? This not a serious workaround for any significant text user. Other work around suggestions are equally ridiculous or not easily applied, like turn off your watch. Um...

I WILL NOT be applying ANY further iOS revs for the foreseeable future. I only updated my phone so I could pair my new birthday-gift watch. Now the giver has some guilt, even though it's what I wanted. I have kept my iPad at 12..x.x. I have turned off all automatic updates for the duration. As a very early Apple adopter and user, I have been true and defended the company against the competition. It's gotten harder.

As Apple has grown into a mostly consumer products company and left "computer company" in the dust, they have started to show cracks and vulnerability to the usual woes of consumer electronic products, to wit paying little attention to feature interactions, software reliability, and throwing updates out that are not ready for prime time. Very sad to see.

Wake up and smell the roses folks. This problem is a month old and Apple has done nothing.... are a least nothing significant. Has there even been an acknowledgment?... NO.. NOTHING!

When Mr Jobs was alive, Apple was arrogant but he still made the company efficient and on the ball. Now that he is gone, the company is just arrogant.

They don't care about anything except cool looking advertising and selling the next phone. We all know that they slow down and induce a little more user frustration with each iOS update... making lame excuses that everyone knows are baloney... as an example, like 'preserving battery life'. Even if that was true slowing down a phone is not Apple's decision to make on our behalf. I've read the posts and many people are commenting about buying a new iphone to solve the problem... see just how conditioned they are to replace their phone each time they become too frustrating to use? Wake up... you drank the Koolaid! Apple has conditioned your responses folks!

I've been using Apple product for many years, but I guess it's time to face the facts, Apple has been surpassed by it's competition, their glory days are gone and their self-righteousness is what has lead to their coming downfall. Sell your stocks while they still have some value. Let me know when a new CEO cans the executives, gets out of bed with the communist Chinese and gives this company the kick in the butt that it deserves.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Update.

Facebook is now giving notifications. I don’t use it and had notifications off on that. Thought if I switched notifications on for all Facebook apps it may trigger something.

I have done resets, switched all notifications off, restarted my phone and switched on again. No luck for WhatsApp. The Random notifications from WhatsApp has me stumped. Have tried a lot of things mentioned here. Except deleting contacts or conversations, ridiculous stuff Like that. Really getting frustrating. 2 friends that I stopped upgrading their phones as soon as I had this prob in September. No probs with their phones. So it is definitely iOS 13 causing this. I had soooo hoped the 13.3 would be our saviour, sadly not.

thank you Siamless,

I had put off doing this because of all it entails. having to put all the wifi passwords and the worst, any cards in Apple Pay get deleted. still in desperation today I decided to give it a go.

Still WhatsApp does not work, if I am in the app or it is open in the background after just sending a message, the messages come through. But that is all...

Now my ordinary texts are taking forever to come through, so when I tried to verify cards in apple wallet, by the time I received the text message with the code, the time limit had expired.

so frustrating.

having to use normal texts with any friends that have a iPhone but for my boss its not possible as the same forum ( WhatsApp) is used for all his staff.

switched my phone off and on again and that didn't help either.

Having bought 3 new Iphone 11's, I spent over 3 days trying to get the email notifications to work correctly. The notification vibrate or sound only works when the App is opened. Pointless unless you want to spend your whole life checking for new emails.

Apple is clearly aware of this issue so why are they allowed to continue sending out handsets to the likes of Vodafone, O2, EE etc knowing there is a fault ?

I have now reverted back to using Blackberry and have terminated the 24mth contract with my network provider and returned the iPhone 11 handsets. My provider claimed they did not know about this software problem - but they do now !

For some reason I had to create a new community name. I am rbpeirce but I may show up as IHaveOne.

I just discovered when I am logged into my MacBook Pro I get banner messages on my iPhone but not audible notifications. I also discovered that I may or may not get audible notifications depending on where my phone is in the house. I get banners and the message but not the sound.

My iPhone 11 Pro Max is at iOS 13.4.1 and my watch is at watchOS 6.2.1. I purchased my phone back in November and had zero issues with my phone or watch notifications until 13.4 and that is when I started randomly missing alerts on my watch. If I unlocked my phone I could see that I received a message but no notification to watch or phone. Sometimes I need the alert to come through on my phone so I would put my watch in airplane mode, which turns off the bluetooth connection between watch and phone. This would then allow my phone to alert me. I now randomly miss those alerts as well. I have spent 3 weeks trying all the solutions and was excited last week when 13.4.1 came out but was quickly disappointed when I missed my first message only hours later. I use my phone heavily for work and this has caused a large amount of stress. If I can't find a solution soon, I will have to go with a different brand and I've been on the iPhone since the beginning and really enjoy my watch. Oh well, we'll have to see.
