notifications not working ios 13.1.2

Since installing iOS 13.1.2, I do not message notifications on either my iPhone Xr or my watch. Receives are received, but no notifications. I’ve changed settings on both watch and phone, but still no notifications. Is this a known bug? Fix on the way?

This reset worked for me as well (iPhone XS) - I was intermittently not receiving alerts for both iMessages and text messages for several months. The message would be there when I looked at my lock screen but never made a sound or vibration to alert me. What siamless typed (Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings) is the only fix that seemed to solve the problem (has worked for last 2 months).

This is what "Reset All Settings" does:

-Resets all of your device's settings like Wallpaper, Sounds, Display & Brightness, Background App Refresh, Date & Time, and more.

-Resets Wi-Fi credentials in all iCloud Keychain devices that use the Apple ID if iCloud Keychain is turned on.

-Removes all of your previously used Wi-Fi networks and passwords

-Removes your Apple Pay cards.

-Deregisters your device from iMessage and FaceTime

-Removes your Touch ID & Passcode

-If restrictions are turned on, it resets all of your restrictions.

-Removes Face ID

-Resets accessibility settings

-It removes your encrypted backup password

13.1.3 is a useless upgrade. My phone STILL does not ring when calls come in and I’m getting no text alerts. I know so many people who are completely fed up with this lack of service, some of them having lost a lot of business because of it. I think Apple has had its day. My friend’s new iPad randomly quit working and Apple could not/would not repair it but offered to SELL her a new one at a reduced price. What’s the matter with us?! Why are we putting up with all this?! After 35 years with Apple, I’m switching!

Am I correct in seeing the this seems to be happening to newer phones. I don't remember reading a post from anyone with an iPhone 6 for example. My friend has an iPhone 6 and she has no probs with the updates. Most people here I think have newer models, mine is a 7 and WhatsApp push notifications not working still with 13.1.3 but iMessage is. messenger occasionally. ???

Sounds like we have the same problem on the same model of phone Simone_86, I wonder if this is applicable to each model.

It does seem that the extent of the problem varies from person to person on these posts, perhaps it could actually be varying via the model of phone they have. Now that would be curious and how the heck do you fix that, if each model is reacting differently. Either way APPLE, too many people are loosing business because of these problems and me thinks that Apple will be too, big time, if they don't get it fixed ASAP.

Indeed. Yesterday I had an important business meeting and so on Friday I had to check the phone every 10 minutes for any news or communications from my boss :(

Sure, I could buy a new phone but:

a) the phone itself is still in good shape (in fact I wasn’t thinking about changing it before the bug)

b) people with newer phones (even iPhone 11) have similar problems

c) the idea of going back to Android doesn’t really excite me that much

On the other hand I can’t go on like this.... Apple must do something and quickly!

In my post I pointed out that Apple is in damage control mode and you can’t expect much from them except a fix for notifications for iMessage and phone calls. I neglected to also mention however that their priority is only to resolve the problem for iPhones/iwatch models that they are currently selling. Don’t expect Apple to fix any older products in any rush. This is Apple sales strategy... frustrate you enough that you will purchase the newest product. Also frustrate you enough that you will use their apps and not your third party ones ( in other words, don’t expect a fix for WhatsApp or any other third party app any time soon). Obsolescence through frustration is Apple’s sales strategy and has been since Steve Jobs’ death.

What we Apple users should be much more concerned about is that fact that Apple has signed a deal with the Communist Chinese providing them with Apples encryption/decryption algorithms.

WTF! This same thing is happening to me too after the most recent update on iPhone XS!! It also happens to be the person that I message the most. I’ve checked “do not disturb”, hide notifications, made sure every notification possible was turned on, restarted my phone, etc. The only thing to indicate that I received a message from him is the badge on the corner of the messages app. So I need to constantly open my phone and check the TINY badge on the corner of the messages app. I’d prefer a landline with a voicemail machine and a pager at this point.......

Following the installation of iOS 13.1.3, my iPhone 6S has stopped receiving notifications, badges, sound alert from all the apps I have installed e.g. LinkedIn, whatsapp, NYT, WSJ, Bloomberg, cnbc, bbc... I’m in utter shock that apple tech team is not able to fix the issue for so long. Since, they don’t seem to be able to provide the defect fixes and new release not in sight, should revert the codes concerning notifications part. For lot of my friends who use apple and myself are badly effected due to this chaos and slowed UI/UX. Please take this up as a critical issue and provide a release with fix or provide with the option to revert to previous version.

I have an iPhone X, and I have updated to iOS 13.2, but I still do not receive notifications for text messages - except those from favourites. For all others, including all my contacts, I get no audible alert and no icon badge, letting me know I have a new message. This started when I first updated from iOS 12.4 to iOS 13.1.3. I would have thought by this time that Apple would have fixed this. And yes, I have checked, and re-checked, settings numerous times. Nothing changed. This is beyond annoying.

My wife is the only one I don't get notifications from as well. I have updated to 13.2.2 thinking that would solve the issue. I am on Sprint. I even deleted her contact, deleted every text, group text and such she was on and still not resolved. Sometimes, after toggling "hide alerts" on then off and then I am in the app with the phone open, I get a notification. If the phone is off and locked, no notification at all yet the message comes through. My daughter texts me, I get notification on my watch, on my phone and no issues. Even after deleting her contact and having her text me as an "unknown" still no dice.

Have you had any luck?

Mine still doesn’t work, sometimes when listening to Spotify the music will go quiet for a second but notification sound. Most of the time I just check my messages to see the many new texts that I didn’t know I received. It seems like when Im on my phone the notifications will sound but if I’m not touching my phone I don’t know when I receive messages.

Perhaps you inadvertently signed up to beta test the new 'Don't notify me if the message is from my wife' feature? I understand that this has been a highly requested option. Word on the street is that Apple is very interested in rolling this out as its assumed that it will be one of their most profitable offerings in the history of the corporation. It works like this... Wife: " Why didn't you respond to any of my text messages? Husband: "What text message? See... look here Honey, I didn't get any messages from you, but I get them from everyone else. Are you texting some other man!".

Presto chango and you're totally off the hook, because everyone Apple fanboy knows that Apple never makes a mistake. That is unquestionable! Proof? Have you ever even once heard Apple admit to a screw up? Even iOS13 is perfect!
