notifications not working ios 13.1.2

Since installing iOS 13.1.2, I do not message notifications on either my iPhone Xr or my watch. Receives are received, but no notifications. I’ve changed settings on both watch and phone, but still no notifications. Is this a known bug? Fix on the way?

A few weeks ago I noticed that I wasn’t getting iMessage notifications from my Girlfriend or Mother. It took me some time to realize they were the only two that I wasn’t getting notifications for. They would text me and I wouldn’t get a banner notification or a numeral on iMessage showing I had an unread text. I tried to figure out why these two contacts were important to my phone. Turns out they were the only two people on my Favorites list! I deleted both off my Favorites contact list and their iMessage notifications started working. Before this I had tried everything. Settings were correct, tried rebooting, I even deleted all info on my phone and restored. No clue why this would stop notifications but there you are.

No! It seems to be completely random as to what notifications I get and when - but I suspect my Apple Watch is part of the problem (for example, I rarely if ever get audible notifications on the iPhone when I'm wearing the watch, though I can feel the watch vibrate when one comes in). My problem is not associated with Favourites, either (as some people are reporting). Also, I cannot work out what is going on with notifications on the iMac since upgrading to Catalina. To be honest, I'm completely fed up with the whole thing: all I want is to hear notifications on my iPhone, and for my persistent notifications to remain on the iMac screen until I clear them (as is supposed to happen!)...grrrrr...............

Thanks, yes, turning off wrist detection worked for me - my notifications are now coming through both visibly and AUDIBLY on the iPhone (I was always getting them, but didn't know it cos there was no sound!) and on the watch. The only side effect I've noticed so far is that I can no longer use the watch to automatically wake up the Mac (a small sacrifice!).

Possibly just you. I think the latest update or the one before caused this problem for me. Up to about 7-10 days ago I was getting audio and banner notifications on all texts. Now I still get banner notifications on all texts but audio on some and not others. Until I found this thread I thought it was something I w3as doing wrong. Now I guess I will have to wait until Apple fixes it.

I’m on 13.3.1, and it seems fixed. The problems, much as you described seemed worse in 13.2. After spending 3 hours on online with a Support Supervisor troubleshooting pretty much all scenarios between all my devices interacting with my watch., it was narrowed down to an intermittent random bug with the Watch OS. I got a case number. With 13.3.1, it all seems to work like it’s supposed to.

For some reason I had to create a new community name. I am rbpeirce but I may show up as IHaveOne.

I just discovered when I am logged into my MacBook Pro I get banner messages on my iPhone but not audible notifications. I also discovered that I may or may not get audible notifications depending on where my phone is in the house. I get banners and the message but not the sound.

I continued to have a problem in not getting audible text alerts. I checked all the obvious settings and had already upgraded to 13.3.1 so this did not fix my problem.

On an external forum someone suggested the problem was related to interaction with the Apple Watch. Anyway I disabled text notifications on my Apple Watch and for the several days since I am getting audible alerts again on my iPhone.

It is disappointing lots of us seem to have a similar problem and Apple stays as silent as my text alerts were. Anyway I hope this helps others as it seems to have solved my issue.

Watch App-Notifications-Messages-Custom-Notifications Off. Restart iPhone and Watch - hopefully happy days!!

I have the most recent update 13.3.1 and I’m still having the notification issues. I do NOT and have NEVER owned or synced an Apple Watch or IPad to my iPhone. I don’t use ICloud either. I feel that this is an Apple software issue, but the “genius” answer is it’s a problem with your iPhone which has just gone out of Apple Care coverage.

I don't have an Apple watch but I do get random audible notifications in 13.3.1. As I've observed this they really are random. At first I thought it had something to do with where the phone was in the house, who was texting or whether I was using my computer or not, None of these seem to matter. It just sometimes works and sometimes not.

This reset worked for me as well (iPhone XS) - I was intermittently not receiving alerts for both iMessages and text messages for several months. The message would be there when I looked at my lock screen but never made a sound or vibration to alert me. What siamless typed (Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings) is the only fix that seemed to solve the problem (has worked for last 2 months).

This is what "Reset All Settings" does:

-Resets all of your device's settings like Wallpaper, Sounds, Display & Brightness, Background App Refresh, Date & Time, and more.

-Resets Wi-Fi credentials in all iCloud Keychain devices that use the Apple ID if iCloud Keychain is turned on.

-Removes all of your previously used Wi-Fi networks and passwords

-Removes your Apple Pay cards.

-Deregisters your device from iMessage and FaceTime

-Removes your Touch ID & Passcode

-If restrictions are turned on, it resets all of your restrictions.

-Removes Face ID

-Resets accessibility settings

-It removes your encrypted backup password

Everything has started working correctly again for me (of particular importance: audible sounds on the iPhone for all incoming messages), without my having done anything (apart from any auto-updates).

For the record, my iMac is currently on Catalina 10.15.3, my iPhone 13.3.1, and my Apple watch on 6.1.3 (17S811).

Hopefully, we won't get this irritating and unacceptable problem again.

Till now 13.4 IOS and problem not solving

Notifications not received for applications like smart home, Facebook, ... etc

issue may happened due to the following

1- iMessage and FaceTime, try to deactivate them as it may be from them

2- if your carrier not support LTE so please work on 3G, check your carrier Apple cooperation together

3- issue happened when you deactivate your WiFi and log into another network WiFi then return again to your first one

here somthing stuck and need time under the network to work automatic again why ?! I don’t know

in some cases not working so we have to reset network and deactivate and activate WiFi many times and reset your phone and router to work

it is seems that your mobile connection stuck Into the WiFi network so when you reconnect again WiFi not see your mobile till you make restart to phone and Router

apple shall know why this happened

may be also because your router have 2 frequency 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz and router is auto so frequency may changed automatic to your mobile and this lead to stuck

if you can fix frequency at your router do it to remove this probability from your calculations

i don’t know exact reason but this is all what I see from many searching

till now IOS 13.4 still the problem exist

notifications not working ios 13.1.2
