Removed case and glass from LCD as Apple Support want. Problem still persists. I found that turning ON VoLTE helps! As long as phone is connected via LTE there is no echo; when it switch to 3G - it starts echoing. My carrier told me to turn off VoLTE. That that's all what they can do...
No, this is a user-to-user technical support forum operated by Apple. Says so right in the terms of use that you agreed to when you signed up. But sometimes the hosts here will let a topic like this be the exception to the rule. But as far as it accomplishing anything? It doesn’t. It won’t “make Apple take it more seriously”, send a notice to Apple executives, etc. You can go outside and yell it and that will be just as effective.
What is funny here is you don’t even have an 11 series and you are ranting. I have an 11 Max Pro and do have the issue. Do you have the AirPod Pros? I bought those and none of the 3 tip sizes worked for me so I returned them. Want to rant about that for me?
Dude, whatever. The URL is "discussions.apple.com", and this was a discussion. I'd like apple to address and correct an issue with the iphone 11 platform, which is being reported by a number of owners, before I spend money on that product. To that end, if anyone else has had direct contact with apple support, who can share any proven workarounds, or any information that they are aware of a problem affecting a number of devices, then please continue to post in this "discussion" forum, which is owned and operated by apple, but operating as a user-to-user platform. Did I get that right? Sheesh.
Just got the phone today and I wish I would’ve researched it beforehand I would’ve never bought it. Considering taking it back and getting an android for the first time in over 10 years. I had an iPhone 6 before and at least I could use the phone like an actual phone! I hate holding devices to my head so I ALWAYS use speaker and now I can’t do it due to the echo on the other callers end. Apple seems to be taking 0% action to fix the issue. They can’t even give people the courtesy of acknowledging there is an issue. Only thing that means to me is that it’s something they CAN’T fix so they will just play dumb until they release a new phone.
It’s funny because you seem to know an awful lot about processes and how things are run. I read your very intricate profile-we seem to have quite a bit in common. I also worked for 2 police departments, I also enjoy technology and repairing said technology, and I also enjoy forums.
Having said that who posts to “point out rules”? Have you ever been on YouTube? Streamers post updates to the public about beta updates all the time. I’m sayin it’s easy to browse online and read about stuff. Your aggressively pointing out “the rules” and the amount of knowledge you have about how things work is a bit suspicious I must admit. The impression I got was this: someone mentioned an update you checked to see if you had one researched and found out it was for developers and public beta testers and you you got annoyed someone was discussing it so you “pointed out the rules”. As someone that was on a police department for 30 years or so and has been on here since 2005 I would have expected a much more diplomatic attitude. Just saying.
Thank you for helping me out iphoneGuy1986.
i cannot understand what i said wrong for deleting my comments. As i mentioned i’m on a public beta so nothing is a secret, if my iphone notified me that there is an update why i couldn’t share it here and let everyone knows who is frustrated about it and solve it. Anyway i’m happy now. Bye :)
It is because you failed to read you Non-Disclosure Agreement when you signed up. Despite the name “Public Beta” you cannot publicly disclose features about the betas, notifications you get, etc. And this is a public area.
But it has now been released so people need to update.
Ok Karen. You wanna speak to the manager? There’s literally hundreds of YouTube videos of every new beta being released. I think it’s a good think to discuss and see what problems everyone is having
And thanks apple for not acknowledging the issue and sneaking in a fix, hoping nobody would notice. I don’t recall seeing this issue resolution in the release notes. Pretty big functional issue to not be more transparent. Disappointing, but at least it’s fixed.
I phone 11 Max , bought 29 December & replace 7 Jan, 2020 reason Echo issue. Last few days i complained , spend at lest 4 hours test different way erase phone & all those things. Finally they came up conclusion, i have to replace SIM card , i did it from T mobile ($10), but same problem echoing. Next day , they came Up to test without case . I am doing their testing now but still same echoes. Lets see , i have followup call tomorrow. I might asking for refund. I don’t want to spend time on this issue, i am tired now.
I recently bought an unlocked iPhone 11 Pro 256gb (from an Apple authorized retailer), transferred my AT&T SIM card from my iPhone 7, installed the latest iOS 13.3.1, and I have not experienced the echo issue. I did not try speakerphone on it prior to 13.3.1, so I am no help on before/after iOS upgrade.
I have the same exact issue. Cannot speak to anyone on speaker. They would rather hang up.
I just spoke a rep and he had me saddly do a "reset all settings"
It was clear when I was speaking to him on the phone that he was not rep for this solution.
I now have to "reset" all my "preset" settings.
Thanks.
He mentioned it's possible that it is a hardware issue, not a software issue.
From the looks of all these complaints, it sounds like it's a bug that couldn't snag before releasing the phone.
Not happy.
@deggie.
If that is indeed true, and I'm hoping it is, I'll know once I get my wifi back up and running, then how is it that an "Apple
support representative" did not mention this??
Is there something wrong with that picture? I think so.
The update didn’t fix the bug with my 11 pro max. I thought it did but then noticed when I talk to my mom (who also has an 11 pro max running the latest software) that we are both experiencing the painfully annoying echo still...
@deggie.
I was simply referring to your comment on the IOS update to the latest IOS fixing the echo issue, and stating that once I get my wifi back up and running, I'll be able to test that out as a solution.
commenting on the above:
For my particular situation, the other party experiences an echo of their own voice, regardless of land line / cell phone / speaker / non speaker phone. I do not hear an echo of my own voice.
Yes. I knew who you were responding to. i was letting you as well as this board and community know that I does not matter whether you / they are on speaker or not. It's a problem that needs to be addressed by Apple.
