Removed case and glass from LCD as Apple Support want. Problem still persists. I found that turning ON VoLTE helps! As long as phone is connected via LTE there is no echo; when it switch to 3G - it starts echoing. My carrier told me to turn off VoLTE. That that's all what they can do...

Same issue here. While on face time or whatsApp video call, both me and my wife can hear our own voice echo, but not the other persons. Very disturbing fact to have such a critical mistake on the part of apple!!!!

I am hoping it is a software issue and not a hardware design flaw causing this distortion of sound while on speaker. Apple please fix this. For a 1000-1500$ phone, this should not be happening.

Ok, here's more things I noticed. I had the phone in a phone holder in the car. I was on a call and had it on speakerphone. I was going down a normal road and headed toward the interstate. All that time, the caller never heard themselves echo. Now as soon as I got on the interstate and the road noise started ramping up, boom, the caller started hearing themselves to the point I had to take the phone off speakerphone and hold the phone to my ear.

Next thing, I got one of the Animoji messages one day and decided, I'll animoji back. Picked an animal and recorded myself. I went ahead and previewed the message and all of a sudden, the recording was picking up tons of noise, like popping and static in the background. I just got home so I didn't have the radio or tv on, and only light on. There was no background noise. I figured it was a fluke and re-recorded myself. Played the recording back and there it was again, this background noise that I have no idea where it picked it up. Immediately I thought, this microphone is way too super sensitive like my previous post. I decided to try the voice memo app to see if that makes a difference. I made a test message and played it back. This recording came back very clean and nice. Huge improvement over the imessage animoji.

Can someone confirm the same? I've read that there are two microphones in the Iphone 11, but which one is being used when making calls?

I also have the same problem with the echo. When I call video or I receive video call, I can hear my voice echo. Also on speaker. I have 11 pro and also my husband, but he doesn’t have this echo problem. I think it’a a hardware problem, not a software one. I don’t know if it can be fixed and this is so annoying. A lot of money paid on this iphone and a lot of problems...

My iPhone 11 Pro does the same thing! I constantly have people commenting that my voice sounds bad or is echoing when I talk to them on the speaker phone...they ask me what I’m doing and I say I’m just talking on my new iPhone. I am really worried about this as it seems that this phone will not work for voice calls! Please Apple...fix this or replace our phones!

I have the 11. Yes it does. Very upsetting. I've had to go back to my $90 refurbished Moto G6. It has a case and it never echoes! (I guess that "you get what you pay for " is not always true) I use the speaker 99% of the time and no problems with this phone. I expected so much more from an iPhone, especially one this expensive. My iPhone is up to date and it still does it. I have already contacted them online and they told me how to restart it blah blah blah. I did all of that...did not help!

Thanks for your reply. I tried to return my phone about 18 days after I received it, and was told I couldn't because I went past the 15 days grace period. I assumed, my mistake, that I would have at least 30 days. I purchased my phone through Visible and I'm making payments with Affirm. So I'm stuck paying for a phone that I can't use as a phone which of course makes me very upset. So I don't know what to do. I don't know how it can be made right on my end since I'm still making payments. As I already said I tried to return it less than a month after receiving it and was told it was too late. So I don't know what I can do with apple seeing as how I didn't purchase it from Apple. But if it's a problem on their end what what can I do?

I am experiencing the same issue! I upgraded from an XS max that never had this issue. I can literally hear every word I say when talking to someone, it is driving me INSANE!! Does anyone have an update on this issue? When you pay over $1,300 for a phone, this should not be an issue. I have had every iPhone since the iPhone 4 and have never had such an annoying issue.
