Is anyone experiencing feedback/crackling sounds when making FaceTime, WhatsApp, or regular calls on iPhone 11 Pro? if so, what is the fix?

I have been to the Apple store in Amsterdam 3 days ago. They tested the phone and it appeared that 1 of the receivers was broken. Therefore they replaced the entire screen (which includes the receivers nowadays). Took 1,5 hour and everything works fine again.

Same problem. Purchased 11 Pro Max back in November and just started having to use Facetime daily for work, and I can barely speak to the other person with a loud popping/ cracking noise (they also hear it) and it's interfering with our calls so badly. It started doing this gradually, a little here and there and we would just hang up and call back. Now it's continuous. Thought I purchased apple care with the phone (know I said to add it!) but just checked my status and no apple care policy on this phone. So now I'm probably stuck with a defective phone that I'm still paying for.

Your not stuck with it. The phone still comes with an Apple warranty. These devices are clearly defective by manufacturer fault not user. So Apple have an obligation to honour that warranty regardless of what their “diagnostics checks” state. I have the same phone and mine is only 2 and a half months old. The issues I have with it including the same cracklings sounds it’s by far the worst iPhone I have taken.

You can’t contact Apple about it as they fob you off. And your ISP just tells you to go to Apple about it. I went through this exact same thing when I had issues with my brand new iPhone 7 Plus 2 years ago. Again out the box it was faulty. And they both kept passing the buck back to each other. And it’s exactly why I never take Apple care like their phones it’s a complete waste of money.

Small update.

i found what was causing my iPhone 11 Pro Max screen to lock randomly. It’s the auto lock feature on the phone itself.

I use a magnetic case which allows the phone to wireless charge without removing it. The case is in two half’s. The main cover can be removed leaving you with the rubber undercase. Oddly the case I have has magnets on the front too the part that covers the screen - No idea why.

i got so annoyed last week I got calls it cut off again and even trying to type a message it locked. So through annoyance I ripped the magnetic cover off. Leaving the rubber bottom on. And surprise surprise the screen stopped locking. I put the case back on. And again it started locking.

i know these phones are claimed to be built like bricks. But none the less I’m not risking it getting damaged because of one silly feature glitching on my phone.

So if you do use a magnetic case. Turn off the auto screen lock when you close the case feature. It’s really only there for laziness anyway the side button still locks the phone.

unfortunately still no further forward on the sound problem though. But at least I found the cause to one issue if it’s even at all helpful to anyone.

apple make these phones and Iv yet to see them reply to any one on here. Nice to know how much they value us customers isn’t it.

I’m having the same problem! I had iPhone since iPhone 1 , it never happened to me before! I kind of feel like I want my iPhone Max Xs back! It makes me cry sometimes that I changed to iPhone 11 max pro just to have the third camera but now I can’t talk to my family and friends that are abroad! I called Apple after trying everything that we could and spending like an hour a day on the phone they decided to change my phone, but I have the same problem with the new one! My internet speed is when tested 39-42mb upload and 350-450mb download so nobody can blame on internet! It should be working just fine! I have no idea what Apple did to mess up something that they had working fine for so many years! My sister also is having the same problem with her iPhone 11 Pro Max! We are the only ones in the family that changed to this iPhone model and we regret it deeply! Don’t buy it!

You could do what I did today. Lay the phone down. Take a big hammer. Smash the phone up (completely) put all the bits into a box addressed to Apple. And post it back to them recorded delivery with a note saying the phone is faulty and isn’t working. I’ll wait patiently for a reply although - I don’t think I’ll get one 😂 Iv gone back to my 7 Plus.
