I was speaking to someone on the phone he was on speaker and all of a sudden, this loud cracking sound started, lasted about 15 seconds, only I heard not the caller, it was horrible. This phone was too expensive to have an issue like this, Apple can you hear me......very concerned.

You could do what I did today. Lay the phone down. Take a big hammer. Smash the phone up (completely) put all the bits into a box addressed to Apple. And post it back to them recorded delivery with a note saying the phone is faulty and isn’t working. I’ll wait patiently for a reply although - I don’t think I’ll get one 😂 Iv gone back to my 7 Plus.

I am not sure what case will be good, for time being I am just taking cover off when my friends are complaining about quality of my voice. Once cover removed they say now you sound better. I am puzzled why this can be, holes are not blocked by the cover. With cover on, if I talk directly to microphone there is no problem only when I am holding phone in front of me during video calls voice is distorted and hard to understand.

Ok so I was using “Speck” brand covers .. I sent my original phone to apple for repair under warranty with this issue .. they have sent me a replacement phone .Tried the replacement phone with a new SPECK case .. still breaking ... I changed my phone cover to some unbranded cover called “NEON”and voice is not breaking for now .. try it out...

I also had that problem and after reading more than 100 suggestions to solve the problem I decided to try the simplest thing first, which is what they say in the video. first identify which speaker is heard badly if the left or the ear (in my case the right one sounds very bad and ugly) and then look for a very fine and soft toothbrush and also a needle. I inserted the needle gently without pressure into the small holes of the left speaker that is on the bottom of the iphone and then put the toothbrush in front of it several times until the small holes were black or there was no dust not dirty. With the upper right speaker slide the needle gently and without pressure along the small frame on the edge of the speaker and also clean it with the toothbrush and magic! both speakers are already heard well! I do not understand how something so simple in my case apple does not suggest or advise that we do that to solve the problem!

Same here! With or without any case! Resetting didn’t work! Changing the phone didn’t work! Internet cable came and my internet is downloading 502mbps and uploading 41mbps, so it is not the internet! It is the iPhone 11! Go to YouTube and you are going to see many videos that people are making showing the sound delay that this iPhone has... they messed up...

Wishing I had read this before I paid to early upgrade my iPhone X because of this issue. It has to be a software as well as an internal / cheap quality speaker issue. I never had an issue with my iPhone X until about two months ago. And it usually is only on FaceTime with a couple of people. I had also noticed I had been getting that weird interference crackling old home phones use to get that made us as kids think aliens exist- but that has been far less frequent than the constant echoing and feedback sounds on FaceTime. It got so bad I had to upgrade my x to the 11pro- only to find that the problem persists. I also noticed some days even my music sounds flat and not as dynamic- and that issue has appeared across the board, with my Apple TVs, iMac, and my phones. And while you noticed this months ago- I’m thinking quarantine has been a great mask for this issue to be covered by! It’s unfortunate to have a company you are loyal to not return the favor with quality control.

I can give you a little good news.

firstly. Found what was causing my screen issues. Especially when answering calls. It was the case I had it in. The case was a premium one which could split into two parts. Both half’s had magnetic backs on them to allow wireless charging. I switched to a normal leather one and Iv not had an issue screen wise since. So anything with a magnetic back don’t use it.

finally. iOS 14 is coming this autumn (according to Apple sources) I can only assume they are ignoring these threads with complaints because they have addressed a fix in the new OS. I’m only wishful thinking though. So just wait if you can and see if this new update solves it. More than likely it’ll make things worse.

Usually with early new iOS front line updates there’s loopholes you can take advantage of too. Sometimes I think about just going back to my trusty old Nokia 3330. Ahhh the good old days lol. It’s an old phone but it puts all iPhones to shame. Mine still works.

i made the same mistake as you. I bought the phone to quick now I wish I didn’t. Next time I’ll be reading up on them first.

hopefully this comment is of some help or comfort to you at least.

I just purchased my iPhone 11 Pro and found that it was crackling and muffling during speaker phone use, FaceTime, and music playing louder than half volume. After looking up various videos and some instruction on how to adjust the left or right speakers, I could tell the feedback was coming from my top of screen speaker.

It then crossed my mind to just remove the plastic cover that came with the phone off of my screen (It was covering my speaker up). This has resolved the issue! I hope everyone else has an easy of a fix as I did. The speakers are crystal clear now in full volume.

When I dial a number and during the long beeps indicating it is calling.... I hear a loud crack that makes you think the speakers have broken or something... or, it resembles the sound of old phones when the person would pick up the speaking/ listening part of those old phones. Very annoying. It does that loud cracking sound randomly and 2 or three times before the person answers. I have never dropped my phone. As it is the most expensive phone I have ever had, I take very exclusive good care of it. It is only 8 months old. Anybody having same issue ?

It’s possibly a software issue. After the recent update some of the issues I had have disappeared. I still get very bad audio interruptions and distortion using any wired headphones or Bluetooth devices. The screen still has a bad response rate with touch. The lag seems to have got worse in fact. With me tapping the screen for a good 10 seconds with no response from the phone at all. But the speaker crackling I was getting has gone. Mind you I do play loud music on my phone so it’s also possible the loud music has “broken” the speakers in. That’s possibly the reason behind the crackling too if they are new?

I’m currently waiting to see if iOS 14 fixes all these issues. If not. This will be the last iPhone I ever buy.
