Mac Os Catalina do not sync photos with iOS Devices

Im using Mac OS Catalina 10.15, I have my photos on the Photos App, (I do not use iCloud photos).

To sync the photos, I connect the iPad to the Mac, open Finder (Since iTunes is gone), select the iPad from (locations) go to the right and click on Photos, select the albums and then hit sync. All the photos are not synced and apparently it syncs the albums under the root "My Albums" but is not able to sync the albums that are inside a folder.

Yes thats what i meant, Albums directly under the "root" node or Directly under "My Albums" can be synced. And Albums which are inside a "Folder" Structure below "My Albums" will not be synced. If this is not working for you then there are more problems I suggest Flushing out your photo sync on your iOS device (ie unsyncing all your photos) then try to sync a few small albums directly under the "My Albums" try moving an album from one of your folders so they are directly under "My Albums" and try the sync again

Thanks BGwControl, even if I knew how to Flush my Phototsync, I could to do it on my iPad, as all the pictures have been deleted with the sync I did. Is there a way to reset the sync history on the iMac?

By the way, I have notified a German News Station who also have a News App and regularly report about Apple in their App about this issue.

I have had the same issue and it has existed for about 6 months in Mojave and continues in Catalina.

The only way I have been able to sync to my devices is to uncheck photos and remove them from my device; delete the iPod Photo Cache folder from my Mac, and then re-sync fresh. This still takes forever, and you have to do the same step for each device. And tany time you want to resync your device to your Mac, you will have to do it again.

Apple needs to fix this immediately - it is unacceptable.

"Unacceptable" is exactly the word. As is the fact that Catalina has slowed down my whole system, with no discernible advantages. I'm constantly seeing spinning beach balls and everything, (including Safari web pages and the opening of windows), seems slower. Totally "unacceptable"? But will Apple apologise for this inconvenience and upset? Only in Cloud Cuckoo Land!

What a ridiculous response, I would have asked this to be escalated to a superior, These First/Second line support agents are reviewed for their ability to handle a support case so best to get thier name or Agent ID where you can escalate this to.Re-installation with no understanding root cause is just not on, especially if it does not guarantee that it will actually fix the issue.

To Fix a problem they need to accept that its a problem first, then get the correct resources to investigate. It doesn't appear to be the case. The only way they will proiritise this is if the Support volumes are high enough.

I don't have apple care so I may not be "entitled" to the level of support others but for those who have pony'd up for apple care and logged this fault, you should expect a professional support service that you have paid for. Which means logging this Fault and Prioritising it as there is no immediate fix or "acceptable" work around. This is what the support agents should be doing.

So sick of this, I love Apple I do, I have all their products and this is just getting frustrating, actually infuriating. I just wanted to move my camera roll over now on Catalina and went to sync and nothing then I decided I’ll try to use photos folder with no luck and back to the photos app. Now I cannot get any of my photos back on my phone. Apple this is just ridiculous. For the first time I’m considering moving somewhere else this has been months of not being able to sync photos from my Mac to my phone with ease and now it’s worse with the update. Thanks for the frustration. And nothing is being done. I don’t want to use the cloud for my personal photos and your trying to force it apparently.

Thanks for these two links, I have sent in messages on both. Yes the same as others here that once Catalina was installed all my photo folders on my iPad were wiped plus I cannot synch music either. I too have spent hours on the phone to 'techies' at Apple as late as Saturday who claimed to be unaware of this issue, I await some kind of repair ..........................
