Just updated to Catalina with my iMac Pro 2017 & the dock has disappeared this morning. It was here last night after the update but nothing today.
It won't show again - anybody experiencing this too ?
My dock also disappeared after reseting my PRAM, because my external Apple keyboard did not recognize cmd-button after Catalina upgrade.
This is how I got it(the Dock) back:
I got that update, still dock issues.
I get around it by opening an app, say Safari, in full screen. Then Apple Key-Tab back to the desk top and get the dock back that way

Just click to resize, adjust and click again. It will show!
One way to "fix it" until there is a fix from Apple is to create a new account. This worked for me.

There was an update available and it seems to have fixed the dock issue for my MacBook today :)
Well, it brought back the dock BUT ALL THE NON-STANDARD DOCK APPS/ITEMS ARE NOW MISSING .. IT WILL TAKE A LONG TIME TO REBUILD IT .. DON'T DO THIS 'SOLUTION' !!
Opt+cmd+D is working without resetting the dock
This is the most fundamental function for getting started. Apple really needs to send a fix. My dock showed up again. Too much time taken up repairing this. Thanks all for the help.
Update 10.15.1 is out, this might fix the bug.
It looks like this issue was fixed in the software update that was pushed to me last night. The dock was there when I first booted up my Mac tonight. Hopefully it continues to work!

@Avestaman, yeah, that is definitely unexpected.
Friend Sorry but the disappearing Dock is a Catalina bug and yes there are several ways it get the dock back but they aint permanent. We have to wait for Apple to fix it..........
