Just updated to Catalina with my iMac Pro 2017 & the dock has disappeared this morning. It was here last night after the update but nothing today.
It won't show again - anybody experiencing this too ?
My dock also disappeared after reseting my PRAM, because my external Apple keyboard did not recognize cmd-button after Catalina upgrade.

I have a Late 2016 Macbook pro with 2 LG UltraFine 5k displays. Ran into the same issue after upgrading to Catalina. No solution yet
I upgraded to latest update 10.15+ and it fixed this problem. Check for software update

Several replies above have suggested answers to fixing the dock disappearing. Scroll up and you’ll see them. The deletion of a .plist string seems to work for 99% of people including myself.
search for deleting the dock .plist string and you’ll find the solution.
The latest Catalina update, released this morning in Australia, fixes the dock.

Worked for me too, this is the only workaround that has actually worked out of 3 different methods. So thanks to BobbyDav.
Same Issue on 12" macbook, Dock was back after running First Aid in Disk Utility.

As an update to this, the dock was gone again after I had shutdown and started up the computer again after a few hours.
This is getting absurd. I've tried every suggestion on here and while the doc will appear and function normally it suddenly disappears after a reboot.
Yes I have that update and I'm still missing the dock when I restarted. I just log out then log back in instead of restarting. The quality assurance team at apple screwed this one up.
