OS X Catalina - Dock has disappeared
Just updated to Catalina with my iMac Pro 2017 & the dock has disappeared this morning. It was here last night after the update but nothing today.
It won't show again - anybody experiencing this too ?

My dock also disappeared after reseting my PRAM, because my external Apple keyboard did not recognize cmd-button after Catalina upgrade.
This is how I got it(the Dock) back:
EASIEST & FASTEST FIX!!!
Okay, straight to the point.
Go to the search icon at the top right of the screen, search for "system preferences".
Go to "Dock"
Once on the Dock settings, simple click on the top slider for the Dock Size. You don't need to adjust the size, just simply click on the slider and your dock will re-appear.
No need to reboot your machine every time.
I actually found this totally by accident whilst messing around trying to figure out how to get my dock back. Hopefully this helps some of you until Apple decide to fix this obvious bug.
Judging by the few emails received lately on this subject, the bug may well be fixed, however the problems I had once Catalina was installed I'm staying with Mojave till absolutely sure the disappearing dock and other bugs are fixed.
My husband found this in the New York Times. Try Option+Command+D. Worked for me.
This worked for me. Type this command into the terminal and it will reset the Dock back to defaults (as new)
defaults delete com.apple.dock; killall Dock
I have opened System Preferences and just clicked on each logo in turn and redone my Preferences. If you have tried the Show/Hide option there and it hasn't worked then I can't advise.
Yup, none of this works - even show/hide - I only see it when I change its size but as soon as I stop moving the cursor it disappears again.
I know how the Dock works - the Catalina has made it disappear permanently, regardless activation of the show/hide option.
I only see it while in system preferences when I try to change its size.
Sorry for my ill-informed advice. I see you have now sorted the glitch. All the best.
I'm having the same issue. I do not have a second monitor attached.
I had exactly the same problem. I have 2 monitors, the solution was to reboot with the 2nd screen disconnected. Now its working.
I am experiencing same.. no changes in the dock settings in control affect whether it reappears
I now have managed to get the dock to appear, but it will not “hide.” Candidly, not sure which maneuver caused it to open. I used the size slider in System Pref to get it to show up.
I have this issue sometimes. Removing my second monitor doesn't do the trick. I able to navigate using Mission Control and Spotlight.
Catalina dock disappeared. Very bad. Safari hanging too.
It worked for my MacBook Air.
