OS X Catalina - Dock has disappeared

Just updated to Catalina with my iMac Pro 2017 & the dock has disappeared this morning. It was here last night after the update but nothing today.

It won't show again - anybody experiencing this too ?

Changing the dock settings in System settings did not work for me, but following sure did:

To prevent the Dock from hiding, open Terminal and execute the following command:

defaults write com.apple.dock autohide -bool false; killall Dock

autohide -bool false turns off the autohide. killall Dock kills the current Dock process. It will then automatically restart with the autohide setting off.

This fixed it for me on my MacBook Pro 13" (2015) with or without the external display. But it fixed another Dock problem too, which is that apps were filling the screen behind the Dock even when it is set not to automatically hide and show the Dock. After applying this setting, the apps don't fill behind the Dock.

I've also read that there is an update for this, but it's not showing up for me in System Prefs / Software Update.

This is a pretty obvious bug. I'm surprised it made it into the software release cycle.

Apple is genuinely ******* me off. Just upgraded to catalina a few days ago. Using my dock with relevant apps on the bottom FOR YEARS. Worked perfectly till their OS developers completely ****** it all up and now it's gone. Clicking on self-explanatory controls for Dock in system preferences does nothing. One time it appeared back. I thought it was solved. I restarted the machine just to make sure - now it's gone again. Congrats apple for throwing your quality standards out the window and wasting my time. SMH.

Good catch! You are right. My fault. I pasted the wrong command. I have been trying different variations many times since the problems started to occur.

defaults delete com.apple.dock; killall Dock

... does not solve my problem either unfortunately.

I apologies if I have posted in the wrong thread. I do not have a second monitor connected at all. The Dock disappearing is an issue on my iMac without any peripheral displays.
