I was experiencing the same issue of Navlibx error message stating 'may damage your computer'. This community's advise is that Navlibx issue is rooted in Symantec 7 (or prior) poor integration with Mac OS Catalina and that removing Symantec 7 resolves the Navilbx error message issue. I resolved the issue with the following steps. Navilbx error message is no longer occurring.
Anyone have thoughts how to get rid of it, Norton Malwarebyes don't recognize it or remove it?
Isn't it just some Norton file? While it is a pain to keep seeing the msg, it is not a threat.
Just another good reason to not install third party antivirus, cleaning and other "maintenance" apps!
It certainly came in with Catalina. The date time stamp is the same as the install and the symptoms started right after the install.
Same... updated OS. It started as soon as it rebooted.
Hello - i don't have Norton on my system and its still popping up. Any other suggestions?
I never installed any antivirus software- Norton or other - and I'm getting that message too!
Obviously you are an expert. But there really is no need to be so condescending to people who, like myself, use support communities for support, and no to be belittled due to our incompetence.
I dont know where you get your information from but Macs are absolutely prone to virsus and malware infection.
"Sure there have been viruses for macs and they do exist."
Please name one then?
Thanks for your advice, I'll take it into consideration.
I just did name one in my previous post.
Exactly , a trojan is not a virus. That is like calling an Tiger a Lion just because they are big cats. Totally different critters!
However, I'm curious...if you don't recommend any 3rd party anti-virus...what do you recommend?

Thanks Old Toad for being straight to the point and not trying to talk down to us like we are stupid and ignorant. People always trying to make others feel small in this world SMH.
First, uninstall Norton and any other antivirus or cleaning apps you have installed. At best they are worthless and at worst damaging to Mac OS. Use Malwarebytes to get rid of the malware or adware you have installed.
