mail slow to update in iOS 13

I have a brand new iPhone 11 Pro. It is updated to the latest iOS 13 update. I will get notifications and badges for mail saying that I have new mail but when I go into the mail app there is nothing there. It can take 5-8 seconds for the new mail to show up or I have to manually refresh it to get the new mail to show up.

This only started happening after updating to iOS 13 which I did on an iPhone Xs before updating to the 11 Pro and it was doing the same thing on the Xs.

This is really annoying and a time suck. If I see I have new mail, I want to read it right away not wait for it to download. If I get the notification, it should have downloaded in the background first. This is 2019 after all.

OK so right after I posted my last post it started to act up after I clicked on the bottom left icon to view unread messages only. After that m, email acted up and started to freeze. After talking to AppleCare on the phone for about an hour trying to troubleshoot they had me delete my accounts again, turn off iCloud mail, then delete the Mail application on my phone, and lastly resetting the phone by turning it off. I waited a few seconds turned the phone back on, reinstalled the Mail application, turned iCloud back on, and re-added my Gmail account. All seems to be working very smoothly at the moment. Sounds like alot but not so bad when you do it one step at a time.

I see this problem has been going on, unresolved, and unanswered by anyone much less an official response from Apple since October.

Does anyone from Apple even read these posts?

What is the point of searching for a problem and solution if no one has a solution. no one reads these?

Seems Apple wants you to go to the black hole to get solutions so they can avoid actual human interaction!

Pure speculation. I think it is affecting almost all users. As in any tech issue, only a small percentage are visibly vocal. Also speculation. If Steve Jobs we’re still with us this would have been cleared up within a week. It’s a good phone. This is a major issue. If not resolved many will change devices at contract expiration. Lots of other fine devices on the market today. Just my two cents.

Why isn’t Apple making any public statements about this problem?

Do the simply believe that by sticking their heads in the sand that this will all go away? They could be right as we all complainants migrate to Android phones.

This is what happens when a company gets too big for its boots, no longer values its technical staff and heritage and is being run by airhead Public Relations and Spin Doctors.

There are all kinds of problems. Filling in forms often slows down after a few minutes in iOS, autocorrect is not nearly as good as Microsoft, calls go straight to voicemail, rollout is iOS13 was a disaster, etc. I stick with Apple because overall still the best and most secure. But I hear you. They’re not on the ball the way they used to be.

This mail problem, since iOS 13 and all updates, is really nauseating. I have tried all the "fixes" suggested on this discussion (restarting, switching off Siri, etc., etc.) but none of them help at all.

Perhaps iOS 14 ... or 15, or 16 might finally come up with a solution??? But until Apple recognise and admit the problem, it is not at all encouraging, to put it "politely".

1) Does anyone from Apple Corp. ever look at the comments here?

2) If, yes, then why do they not acknowledge or even deny the issue exists?

The only explanation about Apple ignoring this issue is that they are frozen with fear, they don’t know how to fix this problem which they had created. Cowardly management pretending everything is just fine fine while they re-arrange the deck chairs on their very own Titanic.
