According to Cisco you need to upgrade to WebEx 39.8 - just out.
This version complies with Catalina’s tougher Gatekeeper “notarization” standards, which is causing the problems.
I’m not convinced all is well, yet. I had to download the desktop version of WebEx to get WebEx to work at all. Calendar integration is not easily workable because browser-launched WebEx seems back level - maybe a problem with my corporation’s portal.
Very messy situation. Disrupting business. There are some notes out there on how to disable Gatekeeper.
Webex is high profile software from a large company.
Any time such software gives you this much trouble, you should express your displeasure DIRECTLY with the developers. They have the resources to do better.
I am having the same issues with both Chrome and Safari. And as long as I have either browser open (with a WebEx tab active) the error message will never go away. Quite annoying and has rendered WebEx useless.
Having the same problem. I've tried all of the suggestions noted here. This is pretty significant for those of us who have been using Webex regularly for quite some time with minimal issues. Super disruptive.
David Snead, I am having this EXACT same problem! I can't share any Office or PDF documents at all, even while sharing my entire screen -- indeed, people report seeing only my desktop wallpaper, not even my desktop icons. (Apparently these documents show up only as a black space on their computers.) I got Webex Meetings to work, but then when I uploaded the Catalina supplemental update, that seems to have screwed everything up again, sigh. I've been working with a very kind support staff member at Cisco, and indeed I hope to be meeting with him tomorrow, but I have to admit, so far I am NOT pleased at all. Please, someone give us a stable workaround already, LOL!
It took me about 30 minutes, but I did what cvigo did. It was super annoying, I suspect it could have been handled with a bunch of "spctl --add" commands.
Thanks It makes sense..
Webex is only partially working with me on MacOS 10.15. I am unable to share my screen, it shows the empty desktop or the application window but not the data on the screen or programme selected.
I have the same problem. under screen recording, I don't see webex. Is there way to add that to the list under screen recording? Thanks!
same problem for me, don't know how to add the webex to the list under "screen recording". Any instructions to help here is much appreciated.
For some reason when I try to Install Cisco Webex Meetings on Catalina, the installer just crashes. Trying to figure out why.
The upgrated fixed it for me.
Hi, corg902 and unamanic,
Screen recording check box did not work for me. Same error message appears as it did before.
I added Cisco_WebEx_Add-On on safari and it is working now.. Prior to that I searched for Webex string on finder , deleted all of them to make sure there are no traces.
If you have installed Cisco Webex Meeting Center, go into System Preferences, Security & Privacy, Privacy tab and for Screen Recording enable it.
Hi Grant,
I dont see Webex listed there in my settings under screen recording. is there a way to add it manually?
