My new iPhone 11 pro won’t turn on after charging it lastnight
How do I fix this ?
How do I fix this ?
Hi! Had the same problem this morning after having my phone charge through the night. Woke up, screen was black, did not say it was charging wouldnt restart. However, I found something online that said to do the following;
Press volume up button and release
Press volume down button and release
Now hold the power button until the apple logo comes on.
IT WORKED! After trying everything possible for an hour this finally turned on my phone and it was working like nothing ever was wrong with it.

I'm glad you made it clear for me, and others, that the press of volume buttons is to be "quick". I am the type to try different methods so I'd already thought of this but it's nice to see the experiemental idea confirmed by other people.
I just copied it from here—>If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen - Apple Support
That’s not normal. Pick it up, look at it so Face ID can work, and swipe up. Don’t push any buttons.
This just happened to me last night, and being New Year’s Day I wondered if that was why it happened. But looking through this thread it appears common. I put my 11 pro max on the wireless charger when I went to bed. When I woke up, it appeared to not be on. Tried to restart it with no luck. My Apple Watch showed it was still connected to the phone and everything worked fine on the watch that requires the phone, so it seems the phone was actually on, just with a black screen. I did the reset mentioned above and it worked. So strange. Anyway, that was my strange experience with this bug.
When the issue happens where your phone will not turn on .... is the charger an aftermarket charger and cord or the charger issued with the phone?
this has happened to my wife’s phone X max and my 11 max pro. And we were both using an aftermarket charger. Not sure if it’s just a coincidence or what.
This worked me too! The first day I charged it (brand new 11pro max) 100%, I couldn't turn it on and started panicking. Kept pressing all the buttons and after 5 minutes of trying, it came on. However, the next time I turned it off, I had the same problem, but was able to follow the forced reset steps (volume up and down) intentionally. Why is this happening with brand new phones???
I have this same issue. I bought my phone 3 weeks ago and used it literally twice. It will not power on even after a hard reset. It has no damage or other visible hardware issues. I think I just have a bad phone, some are bound to fail QC and have problems. I see other users have issues just from updating. Sucks because I feel cheated now to have a phone repaired I bought weeks ago but that's one of the ones that didn't make it.
I have the same problem. Tried to reset but still won't turn on.
I had decided to put my phone on charge again this morning and it turned back on after a day of not working at all. There must be a system issue I think.
While it is called an iPhone it is actually a very powerful computer that can also make phone calls. Like all computers, sometimes it needs to be rebooted.
That's not the point. I'm not looking for any praise. If that's what you understood, you're wrong.
Only very few posters read these threads entirely and very few thank you as you did.
Here we are all just users like you and the only goal is to help those in need. Nothing more.

My iPhone 11 got a error showing a black screen a USB cable and white box indicating to plug in device. It had apple.support/restore or something like that. I got online & did what it said to restart my phone but now my phone will not turn bs m on ?? Any suggestions ? It is only 7 weeks old & never dropped 😳
Okay, so just for the record this did work, however spending between $1000 and $1400 for such a device should not have this kind of flawed OS... I work, in the energy sector and if our control systems were this poorly written we would be in serious trouble...
Does this happen often? Is it after an update? Does anyone know?
This happened to my phone Jan 1 too but I can’t get it to reset. I can see it is still connected to my Apple Watch. So frustrating when you spend so much money on a phone. Hoping it will reset later.
THIS WAS AMAZING!!!! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH. My iphone11 pro died after its first charge and had a completely black screen just like ruq133. @nikkiV128 thank you so very much. Problem SOLVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
