iPhone 11 Pro Camera Lens Cracking

Hi,

Im excited to own the new iPhone 11 Pro but after a few weeks of ownership, one of the 3 camera lenses has shattered out. The phone has never dropped or mishandled, just simply normal use in my pocket. I just wanted to make the Apple community aware that the Camera glass is very weak! Buy a case that covers and will well protect the cameras. Ive attached a picture of my phones broken camera lens.

I was one of the first to post here and have been very disappointed Apple has not seen this yet. As the moderators have said, this community is not monitored by Apple. I went back tot eh Apple store that offered to replace my phone for $99 with Apple care. The store manager request that I leave feedback on my recent purchase here

https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

That site is directly monitored my Apple and I believe if we all do it, they will see this as an issue and offer us a solution. Please join me by submitting our feedback.

Hi where do we report this problem? My phone was not dropped and the wide angle lens has what appears to be a crack on the inside of the lens? I have had the phone for 2 weeks and not dropped it. It’s also been in a protective case that the lens can’t even come into contact with things. For the money paid for this phone this should not be an issue, I didn’t purchase apple care because it’s not available where I live.... this means I would have to fork over 149+ 99 to fix it? I have never broken a camera lens before and this crack appears to be internal. Does anyone know how many cases have been reported?

Yes, please! everyone needs to go to apple/feedback and report detailed info about what happened to their phone to make sure every issue gets logged. They are not telling the truth to you though, this happened to me weeks ago and as I mentioned here in an earlier post, I did go to the apple store and also called the 800# and spoke to a senior advisor who gave me a case # and I made a big stink about it to them. I also made sure to log it in feedback page which is the what the advisor recommended and that is the only way Apple will possibly do a repair extension (recall) but people DO need to go to feedback and fill that out, not just report it here. This community page is really just for emotional support for all of those that are going through it since Apple is not responding very favorably to us. ;)

No both the store and the senior advisor said I could use my Applecare and pay $99 but I didn't think it warranted that. It's not affecting the camera... yet... so I'm hoping for a repair extension or if it gets worse, I'll fix it then but I definitely wanted to file a case (did that with the advisor on the call) and also entered the whole thing on the feedback page (with my case#) to make sure it was noted so I KNOW they have record. They are not being truthful at all.

If you have Applecare, they will repair it for the $99 replacement fee. I was told that by the Apple store when I went in as well as from a senior advisor when I called the 800#. Unless they are now changing the story, that was what I was told and I said I would wait to see if it got worse. They are the ones that called it an accidental damage and told me my option was to pay $99 using my Applecare. if you do not have Applecare, not sure what the option was. Good luck to you guys and yes for sure hopefully people are writing into feedback because it definitely has to go in there.

I don't know why you think telling me or anyone here what Apple should do will help you. Apple isn't on this forum. This is strictly a user to user only forum. No one here works for or has anything to do with Apple. If you or anyone has had this happen, schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and show it to Apple. Posting here won't help you at all.

100 users out of literally millions of owners isn't many. I'm not saying you shouldn't see what Apple may do for you, but it's most unlikely you'll see any recall with a statistically small percentage of users affected.

This discussion page is nice cause it lets us know we aren’t the only ones with this problem but Apple doesn’t care what any of us write in here. Everyone needs to let Apple know you are having this issue so they are record of it. Go to the Apple store so they can log it that you are having this issue. I went yesterday knowing that they wouldn’t do anything to help, and they didn’t do anything, but I still went so it would be in their records. Please call and go in so hopefully they will help us out with it
