iPhone 11 Pro Camera Lens Cracking

Was there anything glued on the phone camera system and lenses ? Either the phone picture is of bad quality or something was stuck on there, removed and the phone perhaps excessively rubbed. Something seems to have happened.

Many people have referenced similar articles, but they have been proven to be false. Until Apple officially changes their written warranties, what is posted by Apple officially, is the official word. I personally ALWAYS recommend people buy their iPhone in the country they live and will use the device as the best, safest and most reliable way to get warranty support.

it is absurd that if that breaks that easy, there is not offered an easy fix! I highly raccomand anybody not to buy an iphone 11 pro , based only on how I was treated at the Genius Bar. Basically they did not believed me and told me “ maybe you should wait that many other ppl complains about this same issue and than may be we can help you with this” meanwhile I spent 1100 dollars for a phone that take blurry pics!

Mine did this too!! I too am careful and I have an otterbox defender case. I have the non-pro version and my top camera cracked. Now when I take pictures you can see the reflection of the light source across the screen. I'm really disappointed ... I was going to buy a macbook air at some point and now I think I'll pass.

Apple, please make this right!

At least the phone takes the photograph, even though the crystal is broken. The camera itself is not broken, just the cover glass.

I believe there should be some store that do replace that cover glass only.... I will check. I wouldn't want Apple to replace my whole phone, but just the cover glass of that lens...

I bought a camera cover in AliExpress for 1-2$ and put it on top of cracked glass. Temporary solution. However, comparing to my wife’s same iPhone 11, quality of pictures went down. Colors are not the same any more. Will try to fix it the way you suggested. But will need to search some videos on how exactly to do so. Don’t wanna mess up my phone even further :)

I have had a 3’earlier models of iPhones and no camera issues. Only had this about 2 months and top lens cracked. No obvious cause, I didn’t drop the phone and I have a decent case. After reading all of these posts it is obvious that there is a design/quality problem here. Also, oh how abused I feel that Apple would set this up so that we have to spend hundreds over a cheap little piece of glass. Come on Apple. Do the right thing here and please do it quickly.... so I can stop taking and sharing my blurry pics with accompanying story/explanation.

I have the same problem. It's not the external glass, but something on the inside... my photos with regular lens now show up like this:

Whereas with my wide lens everything seems fine:

Same issue. iphone 11 pro. lens broken and for people who are saying its accidental damage. Yes sure it is. But this seems more like a design issue that the lens is breaking for so many people in thier pockets only. It just apple using inferior glass or lack of stress testing.

Well mine is never in my pocket, in an otterbox at all times, the only thing that even remotely makes sense to me, would be while in my purse my key fob hitting it just right, while I don’t “throw” my keys in my purse, it’s possible it did land on my phone. Either way, it’s an obvious flaw and Apple needs to step up!

I have the same problem and its disappointing that Apple doesn't recognize that some of the glass in these cameras "IS" defective. I watched a promo video of a drill bit trying to penetrate it and it couldn't. I pulled the camera out of my pocket one day and there was a hole in the top camera lens, no clue how it happened. I take a ton of photos and its so disappointing that basically renders the camera useless. I tried to open a case and it was assumed that this somehow was totally my fault. Hopefully when enough people bring this to Apples attention they will help us with a resolution, or maybe someone can start a class action law suit. Either way, this has totally made me re-think Apples product quality and customer service.

Hmm...I would think not but it depends on the amount that broke off. Would you mind attaching a picture of the lens? If you can’t then I would just trying your best to keep your phone out of water.

Yea, I had my phone for two days and before going on a bike ride, I safely stored my phone in my book-bag and when I took it out, the 1x cámara lens was completely cracked. I went to the store to whom I bought it from , and told me to head out to the nearest Apple store to see if I’m lucky to get my phone exchanged for a new one.

Mine also cracked recently and I truly do believe that it should be handled by recall but ya know apple is different and prolly doesn’t wanted it to be marked as recall because they want the smoothest phone with the least amount of problems but you can’t have that until you fix the issue and not try to blow it off

The only Apple employees who read these forums are:

1. Hosts, who read posts for violation of terms of use
2. Community Specialists, who answer questions which have gone unanswered after 2 hours

Otherwise, you'd be wrong. Cognizant Apple Employees don't read these threads. And since you're complaining about the phone released over a year ago now and Apple hasn't reacted to the posts of people who have broken lens covers, it's rather apparent, they really aren't reading these threads in over a year now.
