Im excited to own the new iPhone 11 Pro but after a few weeks of ownership, one of the 3 camera lenses has shattered out. The phone has never dropped or mishandled, just simply normal use in my pocket. I just wanted to make the Apple community aware that the Camera glass is very weak! Buy a case that covers and will well protect the cameras. Ive attached a picture of my phones broken camera lens.

This happened to me this summer... the top camera lens cracked. I called Apple and they were useless, they told me they can’t replace such a small part and the only solution was to replace the whole handset in exchange of £700 (i don’t have apple care).
Of course I said no because this is ridiculous, I didn’t want a new phone I just wanted a new glass camera lens cap which is tiny and shouldn’t be that hard to replace.
In the meantime I stick tape to my camera to prevent dust and damage to the inner lens. I finally found a repair shop that had this tiny part in stock and was willing to replace it for me. Can you guess how much it cost me?

Not ideal but better than not being to use my camera at all. Also my phone was already out of warranty and because it was bought in the US no insurance company other than apple care wanted to insure my phone to begin with. This is just my bad luck...
Now I have a Spigen tempered glass camera protection, it doesn’t look as nice as when it’s without but at least it protects from this stupid thing happening again.
My bottom camera lens cracked too. My phone is 2 days old. Never dropped and in a protective case. I took my phone out of an inner pocket of my purse to discover the lens cracked. The phone was the only item in the purse pocket.
Something even more ridiculous happened to me. I got my iphone 11 two weeks ago and everything external looks perfect, I dont even have a scratch in my screen or camera...but the inside lens of my top camera cracked....I am now waiting for the diagnostic test result from an apple authorized service provider to see whether it will be covered by Apple warranty or not.
I've not contacted Apple about it yet, think I’ll try and explain the problem to my supplier and see if they can fix this issue since that would be less hassle. Would think the base Apple warranty would cover the issue with both our phones though.
The lens was okay when I received it. I have contacted my supplier but they cannot do anything as I didn't buy any insurance from them...I should hear back from Apple by today. Will update what they say.
Apples’ representative said it’s not covered by the warranty as warranty covers “what Apple did wrong when they put the phone together “. But they will give me a call later today to talk about other options and how I should move forward...
That doesn’t even make sense considering that this is their fault, camera glass shouldn’t break this easy especially on a phone of this price range :/, hopefully you can find a way to sort it out man. I hope the same for anyone on this form.
Even my iPhone 11 has a scratch on the inner side of camera lens since I bought it. Definitely it is a manufacturer’s fault. And the front camera has a quite visible dust particle in it. What is Apple doing?
Just found out my iPhone 11 Pro’s camera glass is broken. Never dropped it, I take great care of it. I’ve had every iPhone since the first one. It’s not what I’d expect from Apple. Called support and they say the warranty won’t cover this issue. I feel absolutely frustrated.
I had my iPhone 11pro max for three days and it looks exactly like your photo. And we know it isn’t covered quicktimekirk but it should be. I did not drop My phone or lean on anything and have it in an Otterbox case. Apple needs to fix this. And no one needs your smart *** comments Quicktime
Just find out yesterday that I got a crack in my iPhone 11 Pro Max lens. Went to take a pic and thought I had a hair on my lens. Unfortunately it’s a crack. Don’t know how it happened. Lens is fine on the outside.
Hi where do we report this problem? My phone was not dropped and the wide angle lens has what appears to be a crack on the inside of the lens? I have had the phone for 2 weeks and not dropped it. It’s also been in a protective case that the lens can’t even come into contact with things. For the money paid for this phone this should not be an issue, I didn’t purchase apple care because it’s not available where I live.... this means I would have to fork over 149+ 99 to fix it? I have never broken a camera lens before and this crack appears to be internal. Does anyone know how many cases have been reported?
mine also got scratches on the camera lens after 1 week of buying the phone at the apple store. My iPhone 11 pro max is in an otterbox case and has a screen protector. I also put it in a place it my bag where their are no keys or coins or in my front pocket my jeans. So I am disappointed that the camera lens can easily get scratch.
i've had my phone for a week and i immediately got a phone case on mine and theres a slight crack on the exact same place! It's not that bad right now, but I am extremely careful with my phone so I'm concerned about this...
Actually, if this was a huge problem after now more than 3 months since the phones were released, this thread would be huge. It's not. There are now millions upon millions of iPhone 11 series phones in the wild. The numbers here are statistically insignificant.
rbrylawski, that is not helpful to anyone here. Apple needs to realize that this has happened to more than 100 users in the first three months admit there is an design issue then allow these to be covered via recall.
