Mac Mail on Mac keeps rearranging mailboxes randomly

Ever since I downloaded Catalina, my mailboxes keep rearranging themselves randomly on my laptop. It's not the end of the world, but very annoying

Rather than dragging and dropping the accounts in MacMail, go to

Click on the Apple Logo (top-left)

Choose 'System Preferences...'

Choose 'Internet Accounts'

For each account listed untick the 'Mail' option

Now turn them on in the order you want them to be shown.

So far they haven't changed order for me 🤞

I'm having the same exact issue! I upgraded to Catalina and downloaded that 8GB update shortly after, hoping it would solve my issues but they still happen. This one included. My 5 mail accounts keep reordering themselves for absolutely no reason and has no specific pattern or logic. It was working fine prior upgrading. I'm really annoyed by it because I arrange my accounts specifically the same way on all my devices. Anyone have solutions or is this a "permanent" bug that will have to be tolerated? Ugh..

This has been happening with me for a few years now, I have 7 different email accounts that all randomly switch places from where I have set them to be. Not the end of the world but somewhat annoying and should not be happening! Come on Apple, it seems to be a bigger issue that is maybe not being reported, i am sure it is not contained to the small group on here

Apple needs to fix this ASAP. In the small business world, collaboration and establishing connection are essential, so we are constantly creating, sharing, re-prioritizing these email accounts. Apple employees don't? Do they have that much free time to hand jam this stuff? This plus the the Icloud Drive's limitations in folder sharing for outside collaboration caused our CEO to forego Apple products on our company IT upgrade (it was a lot of stuff), and she owns a Macbook! We, and she, are going Gsuite and PC now, bummer. Teams share email account settings, it is essential. Leaders dance between team email accounts because the Inbox and and even smart inboxes become too full to manage, thus the need for prioritizing and arranging the inbox with the expectation it will remain that way.

When will the user interface of humans be top priority again?

Yep, by continuing to ignore this issue, Apple will end up driving more customers away. For many people (like your CEO) this could be the last straw. I run 3 businesses and have a dozen mailboxes which used to be perfectly structured and by just a half-second glance I knew whether or not I needed to pay attention to the new emails depending on where in the list of mailboxes the new emails were.

Such a dumb glitch, how can we make Apple support pay attention to this!?

I have the same problem. Since Catalina 10.15, Mail keeps rearranging mailboxes all the time. It's a bug, yet Apple won't let us report it. Mail > Settings won't give the option to report a bug. Apple Community isn't a platform to report bugs. The complaint will sit here for years, and be left ignored as many. Our voice as customers isn't heard. Apple does not deliver good SW products that actually work. It is time for Apple to enable bug report, and to work on themselves. The missing option to report bugs on a product that is full of bugs is pure arrogance from the company. Apple is running for unpopularity.

For me the tip didn't help either.

I have 22 mailboxes and I'm sure you can guess how painful it is to get those randomly rearranged almost every day. This issue have been present probably two years now and recently I have been seriously considering to change the mail program.

Apple, please fix this bug or provide some explanation if this is expected behaviour. Thanks!
