Ever since I downloaded Catalina, my mailboxes keep rearranging themselves randomly on my laptop. It's not the end of the world, but very annoying
MacBook Air 13", macOS 10.15
Rather than dragging and dropping the accounts in MacMail, go to
Click on the Apple Logo (top-left)
Choose 'System Preferences...'
Choose 'Internet Accounts'
For each account listed untick the 'Mail' option
Now turn them on in the order you want them to be shown.
So far they haven't changed order for me 🤞

Yes, this happens with gmail accounts I’ve added to Mail.
4 gmail accounts and one exchange account. Still getting re-arranged.
The fix didn't work for me either. Still jumping all around randomly.
It's so endlessly frustrating! They are jumping all over multiple times a day 🤯
Agreed -- continues to be a real annoyance. So it's still not fixed
OMG. Really? They can't/won't fix this? Apple used to be the user-friendliest company. But this is ridiculous.

I have had a similar problem. My inboxes are being rearranged all the time.

Nope, at the end of the day, after closing my Macbook pro at the office, traveling home, and opening it some hours later... Mailboxes have started to dance around again. So disappointed....
Ditto. Severely annoying.
Still happening and still really annoying - again multiple emails, I put them in the order I want and then they get re-arranged.
Apple - please fix!!
Yup. I thought that the recent updates to Catalina had fixed it, but, alas, Scramble City all over again!
