Siri dictation throws in extra words that I am not saying

When I dictate a text or other things, catcher Siri randomly throws in some form of the word catch whenever she wants to. It just happened above after the words other things achieve. I never said the word catcher. Catch the same thing is true of the word achieve a Chuchu in a sentence before last catchy. Catching. There it goes again so I will type the rest of this. You have to ignore “a Chuchu” to make sense of what Siri is typing in place of what I am dictating. Ever see anything like this before?

YES, it's happening to nearly EVERY voice dictation I do on text, email, imessage. If I don't proofread before sending, I can bet there will be a few "catch" phrases in the mix. I'm using the iPhone 11pro max with the latest iOS 13 updates if that makes a difference.

I am having the same catchy catchy problem and it is infuriating as I practically never do anything but dictate on my phone. What happened to the Apple Support person who was going to look into this? I am dictating this, hoping to make it do it… Catch — There, it did it. It happens when the microphone times out and you get the little ping sound and then the catchword :-) or words appear. How are we supposed to figure this out on our own? This is so irritating. Someone posted above that they had a case number – could you please post the case number?

Sam problem here. These morons might just ignore this. I remember there was a really bad issue with the iphone few years ago that would delete old text messages or something. There was a bunch of us with that issue and they didn't do a **** thing about it. Hopefully soon I'll work up the courage to drop this iGarbage for something else.

Oh my gosh, I thought I was losing my mind. This has been happening for the last week whenever I dictate text messages.

Out of desperation I did a Google search and found this forum. I don’t know the answer as to why it’s happening, I agree with everyone it’s definitely an Apple problem. I’m on a 6S.

I’m just glad to know I’m not losing my mind and it’s happening to others.

Always write down the name of the Apple rep you talk to & give them a review. MY REP told me to use this case number for everyone to call in with!!! Keep calling until you get a supportive rep!

10 minutes on the phone is NOTHING compared to the hassles I've been through with rewriting texts & emails over the last few months.

CALL APPLE!

Thanks Bernie For bringing this problem to light. As we’ve all seen, it doesn’t just happen in Siri, it happens randomly with all texting whether you were dictating or pausing. I have a new iPhone 11 and having catch catcher and now a new word .. katje .. show up randomly is driving me crazy. This has been going on for about a month and Apple still doesn’t have a solution. They don’t even seem to realize how big of a problem this is. I have to wait until after the Christmas holiday to call Apple support because there’s just too much going on right now and I just have to live with it for the time being

I see something like “solved “under the reply or original post? Is it “solved“ because it’s not a mystery anymore because other people have said that they have the same problem? I would much prefer it if there was a fix available - that would be a better “solve” thank you please. Best I can tell, it is happening with more frequency lately - and with the newer phones/pads. Yes it’s happened in the less recent past and on other devices, but the concentration is much higher lately. I have never had the problem myself in the past; the problem exists only now, and I am using iPhone 11 and latest OS which is whatever it is at this point in time which happens to be December somethingorother, 2019.

Catch. Catcher. Catchy.

I’m going to take an absolutely terrific the wild guess and say that it is very likely due to more sensitive microphone related what have you and picks up the sound of me shuffling around or picking my nose or farting or nervously braiding my ear hair whilst on a call - that kind of thing. Old technology just wasn’t sensitive enough .. or the material covering the mic was different .. or I am just farting a lot more these days...... either way, I_want_answers_! No. No I don’t - let me rephrase. . : Dear Mr Apple, kindly fix this stupid sh*t! Sure, it’s annoying, it’s also dangerous! Humbly yours, Catch Me if you Cachu

BadBernie started this discussion and accidentally marked it solved. He contacted Apple to change that, apparently there is no way to change it. There are three other threads discussing the same thing. I’m hoping that the most recent software update that downloaded last night solved this. It was supposed to update Siri. So far today I haven’t gotten any of these catch catcher words showing up randomly.

Since my last software update two nights ago, the problem seems to be fixed on my Iphone 11. There are three other threads discussing this same problem and a case number was assigned. Sorry, I don't have those links. You have to google other variations of the problem. The fellow who started this thread accidentally marked this as problem solved. He tried to fix it, but Apple doesn't have a way to undo 'solved'. So he started another thread. Some people have gone to actual Apple stores, all to no avail.

Same thing is happening with me in iMessages; and I have an iPhone 11 Pro and iOS 13.3. Called apple support the day before yesterday and Chachi and the representative catcher and never heard of the problem! No help. I recently dictated an email with no problems. Catch but one more form of the word catch is showing up here also. Frustrating!
