Siri dictation throws in extra words that I am not saying

When I dictate a text or other things, catcher Siri randomly throws in some form of the word catch whenever she wants to. It just happened above after the words other things achieve. I never said the word catcher. Catch the same thing is true of the word achieve a Chuchu in a sentence before last catchy. Catching. There it goes again so I will type the rest of this. You have to ignore “a Chuchu” to make sense of what Siri is typing in place of what I am dictating. Ever see anything like this before?

YES, it's happening to nearly EVERY voice dictation I do on text, email, imessage. If I don't proofread before sending, I can bet there will be a few "catch" phrases in the mix. I'm using the iPhone 11pro max with the latest iOS 13 updates if that makes a difference.

I also did the software update, and it actually got worse. Along with the "catchy phrases" it is now adding "and " "or" before most or during most dictations. Apple store person didnt seem to believe me (like all my friends). Then i show them this thread and a lot of "head scratching" occurs and apple tell me to do a reset. I have not done that yet

I spent an hour on the phone earlier today with them. The supervisor I was talking to wasn’t even aware of the problem, or so she said. Catch First she blamed it on my Bluetooth, but I told her I wasn’t using Bluetooth. She told me to reset my phone LOL. But since I know this is happening to alot of people,I told her I didn’t see much use in doing that, then she said Catch up she couldn’t hear me anymore, was going to call me back and never did. Catchy That was a nice waste of it over an hour on a Sunday afternoon And yes I left the catchy catch up and catch in this message on purpose. Because that’s what my stupid POS phone is doing all the time

Ive been having this issue with forms of catch being put in for a little over a month. Ive spoke both with Apple care and TMobile and both were unaware of the issue they said. “Yesterday” at 3:35 at the Somerset Apple store near Detroit I got a new phone within a few hours catcher catch reasserted itself... I think Siri wants us to call her Catcher, I think she’s just asserting that this is her new name

what ever it is, it is still rather annoying. especially since I spent over an hour at the Apple store yesterday... cmon Apple this makes our emails and whatnot rather unprofessional if not caught. Lets get this fixed. I’ll call Apple care tomorrow to update them on the issue too.

I spent over an hour yesterday on the phone with the same issue. They wouldn’t admit to even knowing about the problem. They told me to reset my phone as if that’s going to do anything. Catching Katje And as you can see by the random words put into this message that it didn’t work catchup. Home catchy. Catch this message is being left as it was dictated catchy. Catch pretty sad. Catch and apparently it’s happening across all types of iPhones iPads etc. No matter how new or old

Did you post the same thing 5 times or was that another software error?

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS "FIX" THAT DOESN'T FIX!

I did it and lost all my preset words, even emoticons.

The problem was back with the hour.

THERE IS NOTHING AN INDIVIDUAL CAN DO TO FIX THIS PROBLEM!

IT IS A PROGRAM PROBLEM AND ONLY APPLE CAN FIX IT!!!

DO NOT LET THEM CONVINCE YOU TO MESS WITH ANY OF YOUR SETTINGS!

The call center reps are supposed to "fix" anything you call with in order to keep their job.

It's sort of like going to a doctor and they really don't know what's wrong with you -

so they diagnose you with something (rather than nothing,

because they're trying to keep their job with the insurance companies,

who are really their bosses) and write you a prescription.

The reason it's important to CALL is to let Apple know how widespread this problem is!

It's not for them to fix it from the call ...

I called a few hours ago, again, and my call was dropped after much waiting to speak with a rep. BTW, I tried to post a few weeks ago an interesting discovery, but my post buffered endlessly. I went o bed, hoping my post would finally "send". It did not. Here is a shortened version of that post.

Try typing this into google EXACTLY as it appears below:

Catcher, catch, fatou, chuchu, chachi correlation

Three websites that come up are password-cracking or password database websites!

Dec 28, 2019 10:47 PM in response to ChrissyBarr

It was I who posted about Googling Catcher, catch, fatou, chuchu, chachi correlation. One thing I must say is that I didn't even visit the password cracking website and password database pages that appeared in my search queue after Googling the above words. I was paranoid that clicking on those pages might introduce malware, etc. into my computer. I am no IT expert and feel Apple should explore this further, since they ARE proclaimed as leading IT experts, who have a much better understanding of how these things work than do I. Although this is a user problem, I feel Apple should own up to it being an Apple problem, BECAUSE IT IS.

And BTW, something is rotten in Denmark. Why are Apple Care reps giving us quick fixes that don't work while many reps also claim at first minutes of call that they are unaware of the problem? Could it be that IT folk at Apple's core KNOW there is a problem, haven't been able to figure what's causing it, are therefore saving face by not admitting the problem, and passing on to reps quick fixes that don't work? OR, perhaps Apple core truely is unaware this is a problem needing to be addressed. Either way, we must deluge Apple Care support with calls. Also, let us get media coverage by sending PSA's to our local and national media outlets.

i’ve encountered this a bunch and it seems that I figured out that the auto dictate is interpreting your breathing as the word “catch“.… Or some derivative there of. It seems not to happen in apps as much as it does in Safari… Somehow. It’s kind of intermittent and doesn’t always happen but it happens quite a bit with me. It started happening so much that I realized it was trying to analyze my breathing and I figured out that it was doing it I’m trying to breathe heavy and trying to get it to do it right now because it just did it a minute ago and it’s not doing it now which is bullshit but anyway. I’ve seen it enough times to figure out that this is the case. Catch up catch up over there we go. I wasn’t even breathing that time catch up and I tapped fuck. I tapped on the screen and it said catch up Catch. Then I breathe a little bit and it said catch catchy. What the fuck I just said goddamn. This ***** insane. It keeps interpreting all sorts of weird stuff like breathing or tapping or swiping up on the screen as catch. Catch. Then I breathe a little bit and it said catch catchy. What the fuck I just said goddamn. This ***** insane. It keeps interpreting all sorts of weird stuff like breathing or tapping or swiping up on the screen as catch. This might be an update issue but maybe not. I haven’t updated in quite a while so.

Hope that helps. Be vigilant.

I couldn't read the full 10 pages of reports here, but I read the first few, and the last. Apple needs to get this resolved, and probably demote whomever has allowed it to go on this long. My issues have gotten worse - but I do notice that it seems worse and more frequent with ambient noise or when using external input / bluetooth devices. Regardless, they just need to add AI filters that omit things that aren't overtly spoken words, rather than trying to interpret every little utterance.

Until then, please don't offer me a ride in your self-driving car !
