AirPod Pro Microphone Call Quality

I just got my replacement pair Sunday. We’ll see how long they last. Frankly, I’m unimpressed with both the AirPods and the AirPod Pros. One AirPod stopped working in less than a year and the mic broke completely on the Pros in 3 months. The wired ones are a better quality when you factor in longevity. Apple is getting shamelessly sloppy. They can blame it on COVID but I’m less than convinced.

It’s a shame that this is happening. I don’t live in the USA or a country where there is Apple and apple support.

I think it’s safe to say that we all expect more from Apple.

Now I don’t know how to solve this problem. Even if they did compensate me for it, I wouldn’t be able to get the AirPods Pro fixed.

This might have actually done it. Turned it off a couple of days ago and so far nobody has complained about birds in the trees tweeting or me picking up a carrier bag. Will test it stood by a busy road soon.

I was just telling my sister the same thing yesterday! They’re so expensive to be so finicky.

My AirPods Pro are not always reliable with my MacBook. Sometimes the case doesn’t charge the headphones. It’s a nightmare. I just had them replaced and now they’re acting up again.

Not to mention they gave me swimmer’s ear. Horrible. I love WFH but the headphone drama is ridiculous.

I have finally received my first pair of AirPods they are AirPod Pro to be exact. They were a birthday gift and I was so excited to get them. However my excitement was short lived. I am having the exact same issue as everyone else. My callers are saying I sound like I’m either far away or muffled. My niece has the regular AirPods and when talking to her she sounds just fine, as if she’s talking directly through her phone. Apple please fix this issue so that we all can trade these in for a pair that actually works properly and free of charge. This is definitely not except able considering how much all Apple products cost period.

Yes yes yes. The noise the pros picks up is so bad that I can’t do anything at all while on a phone call without the person I’m talking to saying I’m killing their ears. I love my AirPod Pros but if I can’t use them to talk on the phone they are useless. Is there a fix?

This issue is still N O T fixed :( so disappointed in apple.. This cannot be that hard to fix but it seems so. Well guess we are forced to buy the second version of AirPods Pro

I’m facing the same issue! Please Apple help us out. I cannot use the airpods for calls. People complain about loud background noises they can hear instead of my voice. Please rectify this or offer a refund!

BTW has anyone managed to fix the other important issue that the settings keeps resetting ? For example pressing the left AirPods to start Siri and it always gets reversed back to default setting anc on/off

The headphones released in November 2020 have the same problem. The problem stands out the most when talking in the wind. If you communicate with a girl through headphones, she is unlikely to ever become your wife.

How is it that is almost 2 years since this has been reported and no answer was given. We should take this to court as then Apple will have admit the sold faulty devices as for two years we could not use the product as advertised.

Agreed! I have both air pods that Apple has released and both have issues.

<> Speech is sporadic and muffled

Steps taken to fix

1st gen AirPods

• Unlinked and re-linked via bluetooth

• The above didn’t work 😒

2nd gen AirPods

• Unlinked and re-linked via bluetooth

• The above didn’t work AGAIN— just like previous older gen

CONCLUSION

• I am short +/- $450.00 (price does not include their accessories such as chargers and covers)

Oh god nightmare and so glad I found this thread. Also thought I was the only one having this issue..! Totally agree ridiculous that this is happening with the “pros” and that the older version was seemingly “better” … 🙄

So I figured out how to fix muffled microphone of apple airpods pro.

solution:

1- go to settings app

2- scroll down to accessibility

3- select Audio/Visual

4- untick (turn OFF) Phone Noise Cancellation.

ever since I done that, people on the other end of the phone call commented on how much better my voice was compared to how it was before.

this way solved my microphone issue during phone calls using my airpods pro, but it didn't solve the problem in voice memo recording (or voice notes on whatsapp)

please try the above solution and let me know if it works too

Question has anyone found or can anyone confirm whether the older version (pre AirPods Pro so without silicone pads) were any better for making calls on?

I feel like I keep seeing people talking with those, and they don’t seem to have issues…? 🤷🏻‍♀️
