AirPod Pro Microphone Call Quality

Since using the Airpod Pros this week and on calls people have been commenting on how they are having a hard time hearing me. This is something that never happened with my regular AirPods. From what I can gather it sounds like the external noise cancellation or noise reduction algorithm is getting confused with the noise outside and my voice and effectively cutting out or reducing my voice and boosting the background noise.

Are others running into this problem? The common complaint I’m getting when talking on the phone with the Airpod Pro is that the background noise is too loud.

Yes it is happening to me as well!! People say I am muffled and cannot hear me very well. 😡

I paid a lot for these and to have the Pro name there should not be any muffling when using the mic to talk!!! Come on Apple..........

I know right? But I was on with Apple support last night asking for permission to get a refund after the 14 day period ( which they have no authority to do, but asking anyway because I figured these AirPods Pro are duds) but they insisted on me updating the software. So I did. And it has been working perfectly all day and last night after the update. So. There.

From my observation they seem to default to transparency mode. That mode sucked almost as much as noise canceling and off modes before the update. Now it’s perfect.

So, there. Unimaginative as a solution I guess. But not prosaic.

Well yeah, something is definitely wrong with it. I’ve had 4-5 people complain that they can’t hear me and background noise is super loud. This happens on all modes. Now either all of them are going deaf, or there’s something not quite right going on here. It’s not a final result yet but it seems like they heading to a replacement.

it says on the repair tracker “Received exchange part/s. Service parts or products are new or equivalent to new in performance and reliability.”

Time will tell if these are better for calls but one thing for sure that’s better is them not saying we won’t do anything and here have your old “fine” AirPods Pro back.

I have exactly the same problem and wherever is a bit noisy I can’t use my airpod pro and I had heaps of complaining about my voice as far as I have to use my phone.

its so annoying.

the other problem I have with my airpod pro is when I’m hearing something if voice is high I have noise on my airpod

generally I was so passionate to buy this airpod pro but it frustrated me.

I have to mention that I didn’t have the regular airpod.

My phone and airpods are up-to-date with the latest firmware, however I'm still having the same issue. This morning I was in a coffee shop just to talk to a customer service (for something else). They couldn't hear me, even in transparency mode. I had to remove airpods and talk with the phone itself. So annoying. If we can't use to make phone calls then indicate this when you're advertising the product, JUST SAY THIS IS ONLY FOR LISTENING TO MUSIC, AND PRICE IT ACCORDINGLY!!! THIS IS OBVIOUSLY FALSE ADVERTISING!!! I feel like an idiot, spent £269 for something that cannot be used!!!
