Where do I dispose of an Apple Watch with a bloated battery in Malaysia?

I have an Apple Watch Series 1 (Gen 2) with what I think is a bloated battery. The screen still works but once I saw this issue, unpaired and reset it before turning it off. As it's out of warranty, purchased 27 Feb 2017 and is not covered in that extended 3-year replacement program unlike the rest of the world, I decided to purchase a new watch instead of repairing.

Now the problem is how to dispose of the device? We do not have actual Apple stores but do have authorised retailers instead. I would like to dispose of it safely. Any assistance is appreciated. Thank you.

You can't put the watch in checked baggage, but I wouldn't hesitate to carry it with me in the cabin. Your watch has been sitting in your home for a while now, and has not given you any reason to believe it will spontaneously catch fire. This will not change when you are sitting on the airplane. The reason for the cabin-only rule is that, should a problem occur, there will be someone at hand to deal with that problem. Nobody can deal with a problem that occurs in the baggage hold inside a suitcase.

Now, forgive my snarkiness, but think of this: If your watch were to get stopped at the security checkpoint, they would then have the responsibility to recycle your watch when you abandon it to them. My feeling is that your watch will pass unnoticed and that Apple will either help you or will take it from you for recycling. And you will get to eat chilli crab. I'm jealous.
