Apple Pencil shaky lines

Hi there,

I got my ipad 11 pro with apple pencil 2nd generation a week ago.

I noticed that, when I take notes I cannot draw stright (smooth) lines. Actually, when I try to do so, the lines I draw are so shaky and wobbly as shown in the image below. This becomes clear when I write or draw slowly. With quick strokes, the problem becomes less noticeable. I was saving for months to get it, yet I'm so frustrated.

First, I want to know if this problem is caused by the Ipad itself or the stylus

Second, is this normal?

If not, how can I fix it?

And lastly, can I get a replacement for such defects?

If anybody has faced such issue or knows how to fix it, please share your thoughts and help

NOTE: This issue persists no matter what app I use or what angle I hold the stylus at.

I really appreciate your quick response.

Your response sounds technical and makes a lot of sense. However, I had a surface pro 4 before I got my IPad, I used to draw and take notes a lot ,but never faced this issue. It was so smooth and it drew exactly what I had in mind.

I don't know, there must be another reason ...

This maybe normal behaviour.

All stylus write on an invisible stylus grid/digitizer grid screen layer on tablets.

The slower you write with a stylus the more pronounced the grid will appear. Again, at varying severity.

All stylii show this line wobble to varying degrees and severity.

Most Bluetooth stylii will show this digitising to a lesser degree, but it is still there.

Also, some writing/drawing apps will show this effect to a lesser degree, too!

Depends on the writng or drawing app.

The faster you and write or render a mark, the less noticeable the digitizer grid effect will appear.

My Adonit Pixel shows this effect when drawing or writing slow, on my 4-year old iPad Pro, at about the same degree as what you show with the Apple Pencil.

This is actually better than whwt you get with some non-Bluetooth, commonplace capacitive stylii and with some other non-Apple third active, battery powered stylus makers.

Many other less known, third party stylii show this digitising effect much worse than what your Apple Pencil is showing.

If you write or drawing a little faster, this effect will become minimised and less noticeable.

I just removed the screen protector and tried to write some stuff. The wobbliness of the lines I drew is noticeably reduced. I think the thickness of the screen protector plays a major role in this issue. However, the lines are still not perfectly smooth, but at least, now, I can draw on my Ipad more satisfyingly..

I have the same problem, when you use your finger to write or draw does it make any difference compared to the pencil? I have the same iPad and tried on apps like procreate and notes. I also have a screen protector the funny thing is that the pencil didn’t do it in the past and the protector is on my iPad since day one. Could it be a software issue? I have a .26mm glass protector
