free year apple tv plus not working

I bought a new macbook air in the last month. When buying the laptop I was told i would have a years free apple tv + subscription. I have followed the instructions and have the latest software but it is not working. Even clicked the link below and it still doesn't work. Can anyone help?

Turn on your new Apple device and sign in with your Apple ID.

Open the Apple TV app. Make sure your device is running the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, tvOS or macOS.

The offer should be presented immediately after launching the app. If not, go to the Apple TV+ channel page where you’ll see the offer.

If you don’t get the offer presented when it should be, then contact the Apple Support staff. They can assist in getting you up and running on the included free year (using activation codes, if needed).

Your new device should come with complementary support for the first 3 months. Make use of that.
